The Rivalry in world increase

Chapter 102Meccan8 Verses

Verse 1

أَلْهَىٰكُمُalhākumuDiverts you
ٱلتَّكَاثُرُl-takāthuruthe competition to increase

Translation

Diverts you the competition to increase

Verse 2

حَتَّىٰḥattāUntil
زُرْتُمُzur'tumuyou visit
ٱلْمَقَابِرَl-maqābirathe graves

Translation

Until you visit the graves

Verse 3

كَلَّاkallāNay
سَوْفَsawfaSoon
تَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnayou will know

Translation

Nay Soon you will know

Verse 4

ثُمَّthummaThen
كَلَّاkallānay
سَوْفَsawfaSoon
تَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnayou will know

Translation

Then nay Soon you will know

Verse 5

كَلَّاkallāNay
لَوْlawIf
تَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnayou know
عِلْمَʿil'ma(with) a knowledge
ٱلْيَقِينِl-yaqīni(of) certainty

Translation

Nay If you know (with) a knowledge (of) certainty

Verse 6

لَتَرَوُنَّlatarawunnaSurely you will see
ٱلْجَحِيمَl-jaḥīmathe Hellfire

Translation

Surely you will see the Hellfire

Verse 7

ثُمَّthummaThen
لَتَرَوُنَّهَاlatarawunnahāsurely you will see it
عَيْنَʿayna(with the) eye
ٱلْيَقِينِl-yaqīni(of) certainty

Translation

Then surely you will see it (with the) eye (of) certainty

Verse 8

ثُمَّthummaThen
لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّlatus'alunnasurely you will be asked
يَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhinthat Day
عَنِʿaniabout
ٱلنَّعِيمِl-naʿīmithe pleasures

Translation

Then surely you will be asked that Day about the pleasures
