Chapter 33Medinan73 Verses

Verse 1

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO Prophet
ٱلنَّبِىُّl-nabiyuO Prophet
ٱتَّقِittaqiFear
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
وَلَاwalāand (do) not
تُطِعِtuṭiʿiobey
ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelievers
وَٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ ۗwal-munāfiqīnaand the hypocrites
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
كَانَkānais
عَلِيمًاʿalīmanAll-Knower
حَكِيمًۭاḥakīmanAll-Wise

Translation

O Prophet O Prophet Fear Allah and (do) not obey the disbelievers and the hypocrites Indeed Allah is All-Knower All-Wise

Verse 2

وَٱتَّبِعْwa-ittabiʿAnd follow
مَاmāwhat
يُوحَىٰٓyūḥāis inspired
إِلَيْكَilaykato you
مِنminfrom
رَّبِّكَ ۚrabbikayour Lord
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
كَانَkānais
بِمَاbimāof what
تَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnayou do
خَبِيرًۭاkhabīranAll-Aware

Translation

And follow what is inspired to you from your Lord Indeed Allah is of what you do All-Aware

Verse 3

وَتَوَكَّلْwatawakkalAnd put your trust
عَلَىʿalāin
ٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahiAllah
وَكَفَىٰwakafāAnd Allah is sufficient
بِٱللَّهِbil-lahiAnd Allah is sufficient
وَكِيلًۭاwakīlan(as) Disposer of affairs

Translation

And put your trust in Allah And Allah is sufficient And Allah is sufficient (as) Disposer of affairs

Verse 4

مَّاmāNot
جَعَلَjaʿalaAllah (has) made
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah (has) made
لِرَجُلٍۢlirajulinfor any man
مِّنmin[of]
قَلْبَيْنِqalbaynitwo hearts
فِىfīin
جَوْفِهِۦ ۚjawfihihis interior
وَمَاwamāAnd not
جَعَلَjaʿalaHe (has) made
أَزْوَٰجَكُمُazwājakumuyour wives
ٱلَّـٰٓـِٔىallāīwhom
تُظَـٰهِرُونَtuẓāhirūnayou declare unlawful
مِنْهُنَّmin'hunna[of them]
أُمَّهَـٰتِكُمْ ۚummahātikum(as) your mothers
وَمَاwamāAnd not
جَعَلَjaʿalaHe has made
أَدْعِيَآءَكُمْadʿiyāakumyour adopted sons
أَبْنَآءَكُمْ ۚabnāakumyour sons
ذَٰلِكُمْdhālikumThat
قَوْلُكُمqawlukum(is) your saying
بِأَفْوَٰهِكُمْ ۖbi-afwāhikumby your mouths
وَٱللَّهُwal-lahubut Allah
يَقُولُyaqūlusays
ٱلْحَقَّl-ḥaqathe truth
وَهُوَwahuwaand He
يَهْدِىyahdīguides
ٱلسَّبِيلَl-sabīla(to) the Way

Translation

Not Allah (has) made Allah (has) made for any man [of] two hearts in his interior And not He (has) made your wives whom you declare unlawful [of them] (as) your mothers And not He has made your adopted sons your sons That (is) your saying by your mouths but Allah says the truth and He guides (to) the Way

Verse 5

ٱدْعُوهُمْid'ʿūhumCall them
لِـَٔابَآئِهِمْliābāihimby their fathers
هُوَhuwait
أَقْسَطُaqsaṭu(is) more just
عِندَʿindanear
ٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahiAllah
فَإِنfa-inBut if
لَّمْlamnot
تَعْلَمُوٓا۟taʿlamūyou know
ءَابَآءَهُمْābāahumtheir fathers
فَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْfa-ikh'wānukumthen (they are) your brothers
فِىfīin
ٱلدِّينِl-dīni[the] religion
وَمَوَٰلِيكُمْ ۚwamawālīkumand your friends
وَلَيْسَwalaysaBut not is
عَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumupon you
جُنَاحٌۭjunāḥunany blame
فِيمَآfīmāin what
أَخْطَأْتُمakhṭatumyou made a mistake
بِهِۦbihiin it
وَلَـٰكِنwalākinbut
مَّاmāwhat
تَعَمَّدَتْtaʿammadatintended
قُلُوبُكُمْ ۚqulūbukumyour hearts
وَكَانَwakānaAnd Allah
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah
غَفُورًۭاghafūran(is) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمًاraḥīmanMost Merciful

Translation

Call them by their fathers it (is) more just near Allah But if not you know their fathers then (they are) your brothers in [the] religion and your friends But not is upon you any blame in what you made a mistake in it but what intended your hearts And Allah And Allah (is) Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful

Verse 6

ٱلنَّبِىُّal-nabiyuThe Prophet
أَوْلَىٰawlā(is) closer
بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَbil-mu'minīnato the believers
مِنْminthan
أَنفُسِهِمْ ۖanfusihimtheir own selves
وَأَزْوَٰجُهُۥٓwa-azwājuhuand his wives
أُمَّهَـٰتُهُمْ ۗummahātuhum(are) their mothers
وَأُو۟لُوا۟wa-ulūAnd possessors
ٱلْأَرْحَامِl-arḥāmi(of) relationships
بَعْضُهُمْbaʿḍuhumsome of them
أَوْلَىٰawlā(are) closer
بِبَعْضٍۢbibaʿḍinto another
فِىfīin
كِتَـٰبِkitābi(the) Decree
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
مِنَminathan
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believers
وَٱلْمُهَـٰجِرِينَwal-muhājirīnaand the emigrants
إِلَّآillāexcept
أَنanthat
تَفْعَلُوٓا۟tafʿalūyou do
إِلَىٰٓilāto
أَوْلِيَآئِكُمawliyāikumyour friends
مَّعْرُوفًۭا ۚmaʿrūfana kindness
كَانَkānaThat is
ذَٰلِكَdhālikaThat is
فِىfīin
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābithe Book
مَسْطُورًۭاmasṭūranwritten

Translation

The Prophet (is) closer to the believers than their own selves and his wives (are) their mothers And possessors (of) relationships some of them (are) closer to another in (the) Decree (of) Allah than the believers and the emigrants except that you do to your friends a kindness That is That is in the Book written

Verse 7

وَإِذْwa-idhAnd when
أَخَذْنَاakhadhnāWe took
مِنَminafrom
ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَl-nabiyīnathe Prophets
مِيثَـٰقَهُمْmīthāqahumtheir Covenant
وَمِنكَwaminkaand from you
وَمِنwaminand from
نُّوحٍۢnūḥinNuh
وَإِبْرَٰهِيمَwa-ib'rāhīmaand Ibrahim
وَمُوسَىٰwamūsāand Musa
وَعِيسَىwaʿīsāand Isa
ٱبْنِib'nison
مَرْيَمَ ۖmaryama(of) Maryam
وَأَخَذْنَاwa-akhadhnāAnd We took
مِنْهُمmin'humfrom them
مِّيثَـٰقًاmīthāqana covenant
غَلِيظًۭاghalīẓanstrong

Translation

And when We took from the Prophets their Covenant and from you and from Nuh and Ibrahim and Musa and Isa son (of) Maryam And We took from them a covenant strong

Verse 8

لِّيَسْـَٔلَliyasalaThat He may ask
ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَl-ṣādiqīnathe truthful
عَنʿanabout
صِدْقِهِمْ ۚṣid'qihimtheir truth
وَأَعَدَّwa-aʿaddaAnd He has prepared
لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَlil'kāfirīnafor the disbelievers
عَذَابًاʿadhābana punishment
أَلِيمًۭاalīmanpainful

Translation

That He may ask the truthful about their truth And He has prepared for the disbelievers a punishment painful

Verse 9

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnawho
ءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieve
ٱذْكُرُوا۟udh'kurūRemember
نِعْمَةَniʿ'mata(the) Favor
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
عَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumupon you
إِذْidhwhen
جَآءَتْكُمْjāatkumcame to you
جُنُودٌۭjunūdun(the) hosts
فَأَرْسَلْنَاfa-arsalnāand We sent
عَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimupon them
رِيحًۭاrīḥana wind
وَجُنُودًۭاwajunūdanand hosts
لَّمْlamnot
تَرَوْهَا ۚtarawhāyou (could) see them
وَكَانَwakānaAnd Allah is
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah is
بِمَاbimāof what
تَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnayou do
بَصِيرًاbaṣīranAll-Seer

Translation

O you who believe Remember (the) Favor (of) Allah upon you when came to you (the) hosts and We sent upon them a wind and hosts not you (could) see them And Allah is And Allah is of what you do All-Seer

Verse 10

إِذْidhWhen
جَآءُوكُمjāūkumthey came upon you
مِّنminfrom
فَوْقِكُمْfawqikumabove you
وَمِنْwaminand from
أَسْفَلَasfalabelow
مِنكُمْminkumyou
وَإِذْwa-idhand when
زَاغَتِzāghatigrew wild
ٱلْأَبْصَـٰرُl-abṣāruthe eyes
وَبَلَغَتِwabalaghatiand reached
ٱلْقُلُوبُl-qulūbuthe hearts
ٱلْحَنَاجِرَl-ḥanājirathe throats
وَتَظُنُّونَwataẓunnūnaand you assumed
بِٱللَّهِbil-lahiabout Allah
ٱلظُّنُونَا۠l-ẓunūnāthe assumptions

Translation

When they came upon you from above you and from below you and when grew wild the eyes and reached the hearts the throats and you assumed about Allah the assumptions

Verse 11

هُنَالِكَhunālikaThere
ٱبْتُلِىَub'tuliyawere tried
ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَl-mu'minūnathe believers
وَزُلْزِلُوا۟wazul'zilūand shaken
زِلْزَالًۭاzil'zālan(with a) shake
شَدِيدًۭاshadīdansevere

Translation

There were tried the believers and shaken (with a) shake severe

Verse 12

وَإِذْwa-idhAnd when
يَقُولُyaqūlusaid
ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقُونَl-munāfiqūnathe hypocrites
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaand those
فِىfīin
قُلُوبِهِمqulūbihimtheir hearts
مَّرَضٌۭmaraḍun(was) a disease
مَّاmāNot
وَعَدَنَاwaʿadanāAllah promised us
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah promised us
وَرَسُولُهُۥٓwarasūluhuand His messenger
إِلَّاillāexcept
غُرُورًۭاghurūrandelusion

Translation

And when said the hypocrites and those in their hearts (was) a disease Not Allah promised us Allah promised us and His messenger except delusion

Verse 13

وَإِذْwa-idhAnd when
قَالَتqālatsaid
طَّآئِفَةٌۭṭāifatuna party
مِّنْهُمْmin'humof them
يَـٰٓأَهْلَyāahlaO People
يَثْرِبَyathriba(of) Yathrib
لَاlāNo
مُقَامَmuqāmastand
لَكُمْlakumfor you
فَٱرْجِعُوا۟ ۚfa-ir'jiʿūso return
وَيَسْتَـْٔذِنُwayastadhinuAnd asked permission
فَرِيقٌۭfarīquna group
مِّنْهُمُmin'humuof them
ٱلنَّبِىَّl-nabiya(from) the Prophet
يَقُولُونَyaqūlūnasaying
إِنَّinnaIndeed
بُيُوتَنَاbuyūtanāour houses
عَوْرَةٌۭʿawratun(are) exposed
وَمَاwamāand not
هِىَhiyathey
بِعَوْرَةٍ ۖbiʿawratin(were) exposed
إِنinNot
يُرِيدُونَyurīdūnathey wished
إِلَّاillābut
فِرَارًۭاfirāranto flee

Translation

And when said a party of them O People (of) Yathrib No stand for you so return And asked permission a group of them (from) the Prophet saying Indeed our houses (are) exposed and not they (were) exposed Not they wished but to flee

Verse 14

وَلَوْwalawAnd if
دُخِلَتْdukhilathad been entered
عَلَيْهِمʿalayhimupon them
مِّنْminfrom
أَقْطَارِهَاaqṭārihāall its sides
ثُمَّthummathen
سُئِلُوا۟su-ilūthey had been asked
ٱلْفِتْنَةَl-fit'natathe treachery
لَـَٔاتَوْهَاlaātawhāthey (would) have certainly done it
وَمَاwamāand not
تَلَبَّثُوا۟talabbathūthey (would) have hesitated
بِهَآbihāover it
إِلَّاillāexcept
يَسِيرًۭاyasīrana little

Translation

And if had been entered upon them from all its sides then they had been asked the treachery they (would) have certainly done it and not they (would) have hesitated over it except a little

Verse 15

وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainly
كَانُوا۟kānūthey had
عَـٰهَدُوا۟ʿāhadūpromised
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
مِنminbefore
قَبْلُqablubefore
لَاlānot
يُوَلُّونَyuwallūnathey would turn
ٱلْأَدْبَـٰرَ ۚl-adbāratheir backs
وَكَانَwakānaAnd is
عَهْدُʿahdu(the) promise
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(to) Allah
مَسْـُٔولًۭاmasūlanto be questioned

Translation

And certainly they had promised Allah before before not they would turn their backs And is (the) promise (to) Allah to be questioned

Verse 16

قُلqulSay
لَّنlanNever
يَنفَعَكُمُyanfaʿakumuwill benefit you
ٱلْفِرَارُl-firāruthe fleeing
إِنinif
فَرَرْتُمfarartumyou flee
مِّنَminafrom
ٱلْمَوْتِl-mawtideath
أَوِawior
ٱلْقَتْلِl-qatlikilling
وَإِذًۭاwa-idhanand then
لَّاlānot
تُمَتَّعُونَtumattaʿūnayou will be allowed to enjoy
إِلَّاillāexcept
قَلِيلًۭاqalīlana little

Translation

Say Never will benefit you the fleeing if you flee from death or killing and then not you will be allowed to enjoy except a little

Verse 17

قُلْqulSay
مَنmanWho
ذَاdhā(is) it that
ٱلَّذِىalladhī(is) it that
يَعْصِمُكُمyaʿṣimukum(can) protect you
مِّنَminafrom
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
إِنْinIf
أَرَادَarādaHe intends
بِكُمْbikumfor you
سُوٓءًاsūanany harm
أَوْawor
أَرَادَarādaHe intends
بِكُمْbikumfor you
رَحْمَةًۭ ۚraḥmatana mercy
وَلَاwalāAnd not
يَجِدُونَyajidūnathey will find
لَهُمlahumfor them
مِّنminbesides
دُونِdūnibesides
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
وَلِيًّۭاwaliyyanany protector
وَلَاwalāand not
نَصِيرًۭاnaṣīranany helper

Translation

Say Who (is) it that (is) it that (can) protect you from Allah If He intends for you any harm or He intends for you a mercy And not they will find for them besides besides Allah any protector and not any helper

Verse 18

۞ قَدْqadVerily
يَعْلَمُyaʿlamuAllah knows
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah knows
ٱلْمُعَوِّقِينَl-muʿawiqīnathose who hinder
مِنكُمْminkumamong you
وَٱلْقَآئِلِينَwal-qāilīnaand those who say
لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْli-ikh'wānihimto their brothers
هَلُمَّhalummaCome
إِلَيْنَا ۖilaynāto us
وَلَاwalāand not
يَأْتُونَyatūnathey come
ٱلْبَأْسَl-basa(to) the battle
إِلَّاillāexcept
قَلِيلًاqalīlana few

Translation

Verily Allah knows Allah knows those who hinder among you and those who say to their brothers Come to us and not they come (to) the battle except a few

Verse 19

أَشِحَّةًashiḥḥatanMiserly
عَلَيْكُمْ ۖʿalaykumtowards you
فَإِذَاfa-idhāBut when
جَآءَjāacomes
ٱلْخَوْفُl-khawfuthe fear
رَأَيْتَهُمْra-aytahumyou see them
يَنظُرُونَyanẓurūnalooking
إِلَيْكَilaykaat you
تَدُورُtadūrurevolving
أَعْيُنُهُمْaʿyunuhumtheir eyes
كَٱلَّذِىka-alladhīlike one who
يُغْشَىٰyugh'shāfaints
عَلَيْهِʿalayhifaints
مِنَminafrom
ٱلْمَوْتِ ۖl-mawti[the] death
فَإِذَاfa-idhāBut when
ذَهَبَdhahabadeparts
ٱلْخَوْفُl-khawfuthe fear
سَلَقُوكُمsalaqūkumthey smite you
بِأَلْسِنَةٍbi-alsinatinwith tongues
حِدَادٍḥidādinsharp
أَشِحَّةًashiḥḥatanmiserly
عَلَىʿalātowards
ٱلْخَيْرِ ۚl-khayrithe good
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThose
لَمْlamnot
يُؤْمِنُوا۟yu'minūthey have believed
فَأَحْبَطَfa-aḥbaṭaso Allah made worthless
ٱللَّهُl-lahuso Allah made worthless
أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ ۚaʿmālahumtheir deeds
وَكَانَwakānaAnd is
ذَٰلِكَdhālikathat
عَلَىʿalāfor
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
يَسِيرًۭاyasīraneasy

Translation

Miserly towards you But when comes the fear you see them looking at you revolving their eyes like one who faints faints from [the] death But when departs the fear they smite you with tongues sharp miserly towards the good Those not they have believed so Allah made worthless so Allah made worthless their deeds And is that for Allah easy

Verse 20

يَحْسَبُونَyaḥsabūnaThey think
ٱلْأَحْزَابَl-aḥzābathe confederates
لَمْlam(have) not
يَذْهَبُوا۟ ۖyadhhabūwithdrawn
وَإِنwa-inAnd if
يَأْتِyati(should) come
ٱلْأَحْزَابُl-aḥzābuthe confederates
يَوَدُّوا۟yawaddūthey would wish
لَوْlawif
أَنَّهُمannahumthat they (were)
بَادُونَbādūnaliving in (the) desert
فِىfīamong
ٱلْأَعْرَابِl-aʿrābithe Bedouins
يَسْـَٔلُونَyasalūnaasking
عَنْʿanabout
أَنۢبَآئِكُمْ ۖanbāikumyour news
وَلَوْwalawAnd if
كَانُوا۟kānūthey were
فِيكُمfīkumamong you
مَّاmānot
قَـٰتَلُوٓا۟qātalūthey would fight
إِلَّاillāexcept
قَلِيلًۭاqalīlana little

Translation

They think the confederates (have) not withdrawn And if (should) come the confederates they would wish if that they (were) living in (the) desert among the Bedouins asking about your news And if they were among you not they would fight except a little

Verse 21

لَّقَدْlaqadCertainly
كَانَkānais
لَكُمْlakumfor you
فِىfīin
رَسُولِrasūli(the) Messenger
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
أُسْوَةٌus'watunan excellent example
حَسَنَةٌۭḥasanatunan excellent example
لِّمَنlimanfor (one) who
كَانَkānahas
يَرْجُوا۟yarjūhope
ٱللَّهَl-laha(in) Allah
وَٱلْيَوْمَwal-yawmaand the Day
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَl-ākhirathe Last
وَذَكَرَwadhakaraand remembers
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
كَثِيرًۭاkathīranmuch

Translation

Certainly is for you in (the) Messenger (of) Allah an excellent example an excellent example for (one) who has hope (in) Allah and the Day the Last and remembers Allah much

Verse 22

وَلَمَّاwalammāAnd when
رَءَاraāsaw
ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَl-mu'minūnathe believers
ٱلْأَحْزَابَl-aḥzābathe confederates
قَالُوا۟qālūthey said
هَـٰذَاhādhāThis
مَاmā(is) what
وَعَدَنَاwaʿadanāAllah promised us
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah promised us
وَرَسُولُهُۥwarasūluhuand His Messenger
وَصَدَقَwaṣadaqaand Allah spoke the truth
ٱللَّهُl-lahuand Allah spoke the truth
وَرَسُولُهُۥ ۚwarasūluhuand His Messenger
وَمَاwamāAnd not
زَادَهُمْzādahumit increased them
إِلَّآillāexcept
إِيمَـٰنًۭاīmānan(in) faith
وَتَسْلِيمًۭاwataslīmanand submission

Translation

And when saw the believers the confederates they said This (is) what Allah promised us Allah promised us and His Messenger and Allah spoke the truth and Allah spoke the truth and His Messenger And not it increased them except (in) faith and submission

Verse 23

مِّنَminaAmong
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believers
رِجَالٌۭrijālun(are) men
صَدَقُوا۟ṣadaqū(who) have been true
مَاmā(to) what
عَـٰهَدُوا۟ʿāhadūthey promised Allah
ٱللَّهَl-lahathey promised Allah
عَلَيْهِ ۖʿalayhi[on it]
فَمِنْهُمfamin'humAnd among them
مَّنman(is he) who
قَضَىٰqaḍāhas fulfilled
نَحْبَهُۥnaḥbahuhis vow
وَمِنْهُمwamin'humand among them
مَّنman(is he) who
يَنتَظِرُ ۖyantaẓiruawaits
وَمَاwamāAnd not
بَدَّلُوا۟baddalūthey alter
تَبْدِيلًۭاtabdīlan(by) any alteration

Translation

Among the believers (are) men (who) have been true (to) what they promised Allah they promised Allah [on it] And among them (is he) who has fulfilled his vow and among them (is he) who awaits And not they alter (by) any alteration

Verse 24

لِّيَجْزِىَliyajziyaThat Allah may reward
ٱللَّهُl-lahuThat Allah may reward
ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَl-ṣādiqīnathe truthful
بِصِدْقِهِمْbiṣid'qihimfor their truth
وَيُعَذِّبَwayuʿadhibaand punish
ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَl-munāfiqīnathe hypocrites
إِنinif
شَآءَshāaHe wills
أَوْawor
يَتُوبَyatūbaturn in mercy
عَلَيْهِمْ ۚʿalayhimto them
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
كَانَkānais
غَفُورًۭاghafūranOft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمًۭاraḥīmanMost Merciful

Translation

That Allah may reward That Allah may reward the truthful for their truth and punish the hypocrites if He wills or turn in mercy to them Indeed Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful

Verse 25

وَرَدَّwaraddaAnd Allah turned back
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah turned back
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
كَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieved
بِغَيْظِهِمْbighayẓihimin their rage
لَمْlamnot
يَنَالُوا۟yanālūthey obtained
خَيْرًۭا ۚkhayranany good
وَكَفَىwakafāAnd sufficient is
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīna(for) the believers
ٱلْقِتَالَ ۚl-qitāla(in) the battle
وَكَانَwakānaand Allah is
ٱللَّهُl-lahuand Allah is
قَوِيًّاqawiyyanAll-Strong
عَزِيزًۭاʿazīzanAll-Mighty

Translation

And Allah turned back And Allah turned back those who disbelieved in their rage not they obtained any good And sufficient is Allah (for) the believers (in) the battle and Allah is and Allah is All-Strong All-Mighty

Verse 26

وَأَنزَلَwa-anzalaAnd He brought down
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
ظَـٰهَرُوهُمẓāharūhumbacked them
مِّنْminamong
أَهْلِahli(the) People
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābi(of) the Scripture
مِنminfrom
صَيَاصِيهِمْṣayāṣīhimtheir fortresses
وَقَذَفَwaqadhafaand cast
فِىfīinto
قُلُوبِهِمُqulūbihimutheir hearts
ٱلرُّعْبَl-ruʿ'ba[the] terror
فَرِيقًۭاfarīqana group
تَقْتُلُونَtaqtulūnayou killed
وَتَأْسِرُونَwatasirūnaand you took captive
فَرِيقًۭاfarīqana group

Translation

And He brought down those who backed them among (the) People (of) the Scripture from their fortresses and cast into their hearts [the] terror a group you killed and you took captive a group

Verse 27

وَأَوْرَثَكُمْwa-awrathakumAnd He caused you to inherit
أَرْضَهُمْarḍahumtheir land
وَدِيَـٰرَهُمْwadiyārahumand their houses
وَأَمْوَٰلَهُمْwa-amwālahumand their properties
وَأَرْضًۭاwa-arḍanand a land
لَّمْlamnot
تَطَـُٔوهَا ۚtaṭaūhāyou (had) trodden
وَكَانَwakānaAnd Allah is
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah is
عَلَىٰʿalāon
كُلِّkullievery
شَىْءٍۢshayinthing
قَدِيرًۭاqadīranAll-Powerful

Translation

And He caused you to inherit their land and their houses and their properties and a land not you (had) trodden And Allah is And Allah is on every thing All-Powerful

Verse 28

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO Prophet
ٱلنَّبِىُّl-nabiyuO Prophet
قُلqulSay
لِّأَزْوَٰجِكَli-azwājikato your wives
إِنinIf
كُنتُنَّkuntunnayou
تُرِدْنَturid'nadesire
ٱلْحَيَوٰةَl-ḥayatathe life
ٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yā(of) the world
وَزِينَتَهَاwazīnatahāand its adornment
فَتَعَالَيْنَfataʿālaynathen come
أُمَتِّعْكُنَّumattiʿ'kunnaI will provide for you
وَأُسَرِّحْكُنَّwa-usarriḥ'kunnaand release you
سَرَاحًۭاsarāḥan(with) a release
جَمِيلًۭاjamīlangood

Translation

O Prophet O Prophet Say to your wives If you desire the life (of) the world and its adornment then come I will provide for you and release you (with) a release good

Verse 29

وَإِنwa-inBut if
كُنتُنَّkuntunnayou
تُرِدْنَturid'nadesire
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
وَرَسُولَهُۥwarasūlahuand His Messenger
وَٱلدَّارَwal-dāraand the Home
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَl-ākhirata(of) the Hereafter
فَإِنَّfa-innathen indeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
أَعَدَّaʿaddahas prepared
لِلْمُحْسِنَـٰتِlil'muḥ'sinātifor the good-doers
مِنكُنَّminkunnaamong you
أَجْرًاajrana reward
عَظِيمًۭاʿaẓīmangreat

Translation

But if you desire Allah and His Messenger and the Home (of) the Hereafter then indeed Allah has prepared for the good-doers among you a reward great

Verse 30

يَـٰنِسَآءَyānisāaO wives
ٱلنَّبِىِّl-nabiyi(of) the Prophet
مَنmanWhoever
يَأْتِyaticommits
مِنكُنَّminkunnafrom you
بِفَـٰحِشَةٍۢbifāḥishatinimmorality
مُّبَيِّنَةٍۢmubayyinatinclear
يُضَـٰعَفْyuḍāʿafwill be doubled
لَهَاlahāfor her
ٱلْعَذَابُl-ʿadhābuthe punishment
ضِعْفَيْنِ ۚḍiʿ'faynitwo fold
وَكَانَwakānaAnd that is
ذَٰلِكَdhālikaAnd that is
عَلَىʿalāfor
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
يَسِيرًۭاyasīraneasy

Translation

O wives (of) the Prophet Whoever commits from you immorality clear will be doubled for her the punishment two fold And that is And that is for Allah easy

Verse 31

۞ وَمَنwamanAnd whoever
يَقْنُتْyaqnutis obedient
مِنكُنَّminkunnaamong you
لِلَّهِlillahito Allah
وَرَسُولِهِۦwarasūlihiand His Messenger
وَتَعْمَلْwataʿmaland does
صَـٰلِحًۭاṣāliḥanrighteousness
نُّؤْتِهَآnu'tihāWe will give her
أَجْرَهَاajrahāher reward
مَرَّتَيْنِmarrataynitwice
وَأَعْتَدْنَاwa-aʿtadnāand We have prepared
لَهَاlahāfor her
رِزْقًۭاriz'qana provision
كَرِيمًۭاkarīmannoble

Translation

And whoever is obedient among you to Allah and His Messenger and does righteousness We will give her her reward twice and We have prepared for her a provision noble

Verse 32

يَـٰنِسَآءَyānisāaO wives
ٱلنَّبِىِّl-nabiyi(of) the Prophet
لَسْتُنَّlastunnaYou are not
كَأَحَدٍۢka-aḥadinlike anyone
مِّنَminaamong
ٱلنِّسَآءِ ۚl-nisāithe women
إِنِiniIf
ٱتَّقَيْتُنَّittaqaytunnayou fear (Allah)
فَلَاfalāthen (do) not
تَخْضَعْنَtakhḍaʿnabe soft
بِٱلْقَوْلِbil-qawliin speech
فَيَطْمَعَfayaṭmaʿalest should be moved with desire
ٱلَّذِىalladhīhe who
فِىfīin
قَلْبِهِۦqalbihihis heart
مَرَضٌۭmaraḍun(is) a disease
وَقُلْنَwaqul'nabut say
قَوْلًۭاqawlana word
مَّعْرُوفًۭاmaʿrūfanappropriate

Translation

O wives (of) the Prophet You are not like anyone among the women If you fear (Allah) then (do) not be soft in speech lest should be moved with desire he who in his heart (is) a disease but say a word appropriate

Verse 33

وَقَرْنَwaqarnaAnd stay
فِىfīin
بُيُوتِكُنَّbuyūtikunnayour houses
وَلَاwalāand (do) not
تَبَرَّجْنَtabarrajnadisplay yourselves
تَبَرُّجَtabarruja(as was the) display
ٱلْجَـٰهِلِيَّةِl-jāhiliyati(of the times of) ignorance
ٱلْأُولَىٰ ۖl-ūlāthe former
وَأَقِمْنَwa-aqim'naAnd establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَl-ṣalatathe prayer
وَءَاتِينَwaātīnaand give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَl-zakatazakah
وَأَطِعْنَwa-aṭiʿ'naand obey
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ ۚwarasūlahuand His Messenger
إِنَّمَاinnamāOnly
يُرِيدُyurīduAllah wishes
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah wishes
لِيُذْهِبَliyudh'hibato remove
عَنكُمُʿankumufrom you
ٱلرِّجْسَl-rij'sathe impurity
أَهْلَahla(O) People
ٱلْبَيْتِl-bayti(of) the House
وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْwayuṭahhirakumAnd to purify you
تَطْهِيرًۭاtaṭhīran(with thorough) purification

Translation

And stay in your houses and (do) not display yourselves (as was the) display (of the times of) ignorance the former And establish the prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger Only Allah wishes Allah wishes to remove from you the impurity (O) People (of) the House And to purify you (with thorough) purification

Verse 34

وَٱذْكُرْنَwa-udh'kur'naAnd remember
مَاmāwhat
يُتْلَىٰyut'lāis recited
فِىfīin
بُيُوتِكُنَّbuyūtikunnayour houses
مِنْminof
ءَايَـٰتِāyāti(the) Verses
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
وَٱلْحِكْمَةِ ۚwal-ḥik'matiand the wisdom
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
كَانَkānais
لَطِيفًاlaṭīfanAll-Subtle
خَبِيرًاkhabīranAll-Aware

Translation

And remember what is recited in your houses of (the) Verses (of) Allah and the wisdom Indeed Allah is All-Subtle All-Aware

Verse 35

إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَl-mus'limīnathe Muslim men
وَٱلْمُسْلِمَـٰتِwal-mus'limātiand the Muslim women
وَٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَwal-mu'minīnaand the believing men
وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِwal-mu'minātiand the believing women
وَٱلْقَـٰنِتِينَwal-qānitīnaand the obedient men
وَٱلْقَـٰنِتَـٰتِwal-qānitātiand the obedient women
وَٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَwal-ṣādiqīnaand the truthful men
وَٱلصَّـٰدِقَـٰتِwal-ṣādiqātiand the truthful women
وَٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَwal-ṣābirīnaand the patient men
وَٱلصَّـٰبِرَٰتِwal-ṣābirātiand the patient women
وَٱلْخَـٰشِعِينَwal-khāshiʿīnaand the humble men
وَٱلْخَـٰشِعَـٰتِwal-khāshiʿātiand the humble women
وَٱلْمُتَصَدِّقِينَwal-mutaṣadiqīnaand the men who give charity
وَٱلْمُتَصَدِّقَـٰتِwal-mutaṣadiqātiand the women who give charity
وَٱلصَّـٰٓئِمِينَwal-ṣāimīnaand the men who fast
وَٱلصَّـٰٓئِمَـٰتِwal-ṣāimātiand the women who fast
وَٱلْحَـٰفِظِينَwal-ḥāfiẓīnaand the men who guard
فُرُوجَهُمْfurūjahumtheir chastity
وَٱلْحَـٰفِظَـٰتِwal-ḥāfiẓātiand the women who guard (it)
وَٱلذَّٰكِرِينَwal-dhākirīnaand the men who remember
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
كَثِيرًۭاkathīranmuch
وَٱلذَّٰكِرَٰتِwal-dhākirātiand the women who remember
أَعَدَّaʿaddaAllah has prepared
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah has prepared
لَهُمlahumfor them
مَّغْفِرَةًۭmaghfiratanforgiveness
وَأَجْرًاwa-ajranand a reward
عَظِيمًۭاʿaẓīmangreat

Translation

Indeed the Muslim men and the Muslim women and the believing men and the believing women and the obedient men and the obedient women and the truthful men and the truthful women and the patient men and the patient women and the humble men and the humble women and the men who give charity and the women who give charity and the men who fast and the women who fast and the men who guard their chastity and the women who guard (it) and the men who remember Allah much and the women who remember Allah has prepared Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a reward great

Verse 36

وَمَاwamāAnd not
كَانَkāna(it) is
لِمُؤْمِنٍۢlimu'mininfor a believing man
وَلَاwalāand not
مُؤْمِنَةٍmu'minatin(for) a believing woman
إِذَاidhāwhen
قَضَىqaḍāAllah has decided
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah has decided
وَرَسُولُهُۥٓwarasūluhuand His Messenger
أَمْرًاamrana matter
أَنanthat
يَكُونَyakūna(there) should be
لَهُمُlahumufor them
ٱلْخِيَرَةُl-khiyaratu(any) choice
مِنْminabout
أَمْرِهِمْ ۗamrihimtheir affair
وَمَنwamanAnd whoever
يَعْصِyaʿṣidisobeys
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
وَرَسُولَهُۥwarasūlahuand His Messenger
فَقَدْfaqadcertainly
ضَلَّḍallahe (has) strayed
ضَلَـٰلًۭاḍalālan(into) error
مُّبِينًۭاmubīnanclear

Translation

And not (it) is for a believing man and not (for) a believing woman when Allah has decided Allah has decided and His Messenger a matter that (there) should be for them (any) choice about their affair And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger certainly he (has) strayed (into) error clear

Verse 37

وَإِذْwa-idhAnd when
تَقُولُtaqūluyou said
لِلَّذِىٓlilladhīto the one
أَنْعَمَanʿamaAllah bestowed favor
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah bestowed favor
عَلَيْهِʿalayhion him
وَأَنْعَمْتَwa-anʿamtaand you bestowed favor
عَلَيْهِʿalayhion him
أَمْسِكْamsikKeep
عَلَيْكَʿalaykato yourself
زَوْجَكَzawjakayour wife
وَٱتَّقِwa-ittaqiand fear
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
وَتُخْفِىwatukh'fīBut you concealed
فِىfīwithin
نَفْسِكَnafsikayourself
مَاmāwhat
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah
مُبْدِيهِmub'dīhi(was to) disclose
وَتَخْشَىwatakhshāAnd you fear
ٱلنَّاسَl-nāsathe people
وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuwhile Allah
أَحَقُّaḥaqquhas more right
أَنanthat
تَخْشَىٰهُ ۖtakhshāhuyou (should) fear Him
فَلَمَّاfalammāSo when
قَضَىٰqaḍāended
زَيْدٌۭzaydunZaid
مِّنْهَاmin'hāfrom her
وَطَرًۭاwaṭarannecessary (formalities)
زَوَّجْنَـٰكَهَاzawwajnākahāWe married her to you
لِكَىْlikayso that
لَاlānot
يَكُونَyakūnathere be
عَلَىʿalāon
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believers
حَرَجٌۭḥarajunany discomfort
فِىٓfīconcerning
أَزْوَٰجِazwājithe wives
أَدْعِيَآئِهِمْadʿiyāihim(of) their adopted sons
إِذَاidhāwhen
قَضَوْا۟qaḍawthey have ended
مِنْهُنَّmin'hunnafrom them
وَطَرًۭا ۚwaṭarannecessary (formalities)
وَكَانَwakānaAnd is
أَمْرُamru(the) Command
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
مَفْعُولًۭاmafʿūlanaccomplished

Translation

And when you said to the one Allah bestowed favor Allah bestowed favor on him and you bestowed favor on him Keep to yourself your wife and fear Allah But you concealed within yourself what Allah (was to) disclose And you fear the people while Allah has more right that you (should) fear Him So when ended Zaid from her necessary (formalities) We married her to you so that not there be on the believers any discomfort concerning the wives (of) their adopted sons when they have ended from them necessary (formalities) And is (the) Command (of) Allah accomplished

Verse 38

مَّاmāNot
كَانَkāna(there can) be
عَلَىʿalāupon
ٱلنَّبِىِّl-nabiyithe Prophet
مِنْminany
حَرَجٍۢḥarajindiscomfort
فِيمَاfīmāin what
فَرَضَfaraḍaAllah has imposed
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah has imposed
لَهُۥ ۖlahuon him
سُنَّةَsunnata(That is the) Way
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
فِىfīconcerning
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
خَلَوْا۟khalawpassed away
مِنminbefore
قَبْلُ ۚqablubefore
وَكَانَwakānaAnd is
أَمْرُamru(the) Command
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
قَدَرًۭاqadarana decree
مَّقْدُورًاmaqdūrandestined

Translation

Not (there can) be upon the Prophet any discomfort in what Allah has imposed Allah has imposed on him (That is the) Way (of) Allah concerning those who passed away before before And is (the) Command (of) Allah a decree destined

Verse 39

ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaThose who
يُبَلِّغُونَyuballighūnaconvey
رِسَـٰلَـٰتِrisālāti(the) Messages
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
وَيَخْشَوْنَهُۥwayakhshawnahuand fear Him
وَلَاwalāand (do) not
يَخْشَوْنَyakhshawnafear
أَحَدًاaḥadananyone
إِلَّاillāexcept
ٱللَّهَ ۗl-lahaAllah
وَكَفَىٰwakafāAnd sufficient is Allah
بِٱللَّهِbil-lahiAnd sufficient is Allah
حَسِيبًۭاḥasīban(as) a Reckoner

Translation

Those who convey (the) Messages (of) Allah and fear Him and (do) not fear anyone except Allah And sufficient is Allah And sufficient is Allah (as) a Reckoner

Verse 40

مَّاmāNot
كَانَkānais
مُحَمَّدٌmuḥammadunMuhammad
أَبَآabā(the) father
أَحَدٍۢaḥadin(of) anyone
مِّنminof
رِّجَالِكُمْrijālikumyour men
وَلَـٰكِنwalākinbut
رَّسُولَrasūla(he is the) Messenger
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
وَخَاتَمَwakhātamaand Seal
ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ ۗl-nabiyīna(of) the Prophets
وَكَانَwakānaAnd Allah is
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah is
بِكُلِّbikulliof every
شَىْءٍshayinthing
عَلِيمًۭاʿalīmanAll-Knower

Translation

Not is Muhammad (the) father (of) anyone of your men but (he is the) Messenger (of) Allah and Seal (of) the Prophets And Allah is And Allah is of every thing All-Knower

Verse 41

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you who believe
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaO you who believe
ءَامَنُوا۟āmanūO you who believe
ٱذْكُرُوا۟udh'kurūRemember
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
ذِكْرًۭاdhik'ran(with) remembrance
كَثِيرًۭاkathīranmuch

Translation

O you who believe O you who believe O you who believe Remember Allah (with) remembrance much

Verse 42

وَسَبِّحُوهُwasabbiḥūhuAnd glorify Him
بُكْرَةًۭbuk'ratanmorning
وَأَصِيلًاwa-aṣīlanand evening

Translation

And glorify Him morning and evening

Verse 43

هُوَhuwaHe
ٱلَّذِىalladhī(is) the One Who
يُصَلِّىyuṣallīsends His blessings
عَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumupon you
وَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتُهُۥwamalāikatuhuand His Angels
لِيُخْرِجَكُمliyukh'rijakumso that He may bring you out
مِّنَminafrom
ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِl-ẓulumātithe darkness[es]
إِلَىilāto
ٱلنُّورِ ۚl-nūrithe light
وَكَانَwakānaAnd He is
بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَbil-mu'minīnato the believers
رَحِيمًۭاraḥīmanMerciful

Translation

He (is) the One Who sends His blessings upon you and His Angels so that He may bring you out from the darkness[es] to the light And He is to the believers Merciful

Verse 44

تَحِيَّتُهُمْtaḥiyyatuhumTheir greetings
يَوْمَyawma(on the) Day
يَلْقَوْنَهُۥyalqawnahuthey will meet Him
سَلَـٰمٌۭ ۚsalāmun(will be), "Peace
وَأَعَدَّwa-aʿaddaand He has prepared
لَهُمْlahumfor them
أَجْرًۭاajrana reward
كَرِيمًۭاkarīmannoble

Translation

Their greetings (on the) Day they will meet Him (will be), "Peace and He has prepared for them a reward noble

Verse 45

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO Prophet
ٱلنَّبِىُّl-nabiyuO Prophet
إِنَّآinnāIndeed, We
أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَarsalnākahave sent you
شَـٰهِدًۭاshāhidan(as) a witness
وَمُبَشِّرًۭاwamubashiranand a bearer of glad tidings
وَنَذِيرًۭاwanadhīranand (as) a warner

Translation

O Prophet O Prophet Indeed, We have sent you (as) a witness and a bearer of glad tidings and (as) a warner

Verse 46

وَدَاعِيًاwadāʿiyanAnd as one who invites
إِلَىilāto
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
بِإِذْنِهِۦbi-idh'nihiby His permission
وَسِرَاجًۭاwasirājanand (as) a lamp
مُّنِيرًۭاmunīranilluminating

Translation

And as one who invites to Allah by His permission and (as) a lamp illuminating

Verse 47

وَبَشِّرِwabashiriAnd give glad tidings
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīna(to) the believers
بِأَنَّbi-annathat
لَهُمlahumfor them
مِّنَmina(is) from
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
فَضْلًۭاfaḍlana Bounty
كَبِيرًۭاkabīrangreat

Translation

And give glad tidings (to) the believers that for them (is) from Allah a Bounty great

Verse 48

وَلَاwalāAnd (do) not
تُطِعِtuṭiʿiobey
ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelievers
وَٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَwal-munāfiqīnaand the hypocrites
وَدَعْwadaʿand disregard
أَذَىٰهُمْadhāhumtheir harm
وَتَوَكَّلْwatawakkaland put your trust
عَلَىʿalāin
ٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahiAllah
وَكَفَىٰwakafāAnd sufficient is Allah
بِٱللَّهِbil-lahiAnd sufficient is Allah
وَكِيلًۭاwakīlan(as) a Trustee

Translation

And (do) not obey the disbelievers and the hypocrites and disregard their harm and put your trust in Allah And sufficient is Allah And sufficient is Allah (as) a Trustee

Verse 49

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you who believe
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaO you who believe
ءَامَنُوٓا۟āmanūO you who believe
إِذَاidhāWhen
نَكَحْتُمُnakaḥtumuyou marry
ٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِl-mu'minātibelieving women
ثُمَّthummaand then
طَلَّقْتُمُوهُنَّṭallaqtumūhunnadivorce them
مِنminbefore
قَبْلِqablibefore
أَنan[that]
تَمَسُّوهُنَّtamassūhunnayou have touched them
فَمَاfamāthen not
لَكُمْlakumfor you
عَلَيْهِنَّʿalayhinnaon them
مِنْminany
عِدَّةٍۢʿiddatinwaiting period
تَعْتَدُّونَهَا ۖtaʿtaddūnahā(to) count concerning them
فَمَتِّعُوهُنَّfamattiʿūhunnaSo provide for them
وَسَرِّحُوهُنَّwasarriḥūhunnaand release them
سَرَاحًۭاsarāḥan(with) a release
جَمِيلًۭاjamīlangood

Translation

O you who believe O you who believe O you who believe When you marry believing women and then divorce them before before [that] you have touched them then not for you on them any waiting period (to) count concerning them So provide for them and release them (with) a release good

Verse 50

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO Prophet
ٱلنَّبِىُّl-nabiyuO Prophet
إِنَّآinnāIndeed, We
أَحْلَلْنَاaḥlalnā[We] have made lawful
لَكَlakato you
أَزْوَٰجَكَazwājakayour wives
ٱلَّـٰتِىٓallātī(to) whom
ءَاتَيْتَātaytayou have given
أُجُورَهُنَّujūrahunnatheir bridal money
وَمَاwamāand whom
مَلَكَتْmalakatyou rightfully possess
يَمِينُكَyamīnukayou rightfully possess
مِمَّآmimmāfrom those (whom)
أَفَآءَafāaAllah has given
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah has given
عَلَيْكَʿalaykato you
وَبَنَاتِwabanātiand (the) daughters
عَمِّكَʿammika(of) your paternal uncles
وَبَنَاتِwabanātiand (the) daughters
عَمَّـٰتِكَʿammātika(of) your paternal aunts
وَبَنَاتِwabanātiand (the) daughters
خَالِكَkhālika(of) your maternal uncles
وَبَنَاتِwabanātiand (the) daughters
خَـٰلَـٰتِكَkhālātika(of) your maternal aunts
ٱلَّـٰتِىallātīwho
هَاجَرْنَhājarnaemigrated
مَعَكَmaʿakawith you
وَٱمْرَأَةًۭwa-im'ra-atanand a woman
مُّؤْمِنَةًmu'minatanbelieving
إِنinif
وَهَبَتْwahabatshe gives
نَفْسَهَاnafsahāherself
لِلنَّبِىِّlilnnabiyyito the Prophet
إِنْinif
أَرَادَarādawishes
ٱلنَّبِىُّl-nabiyuthe Prophet
أَنanto
يَسْتَنكِحَهَاyastankiḥahāmarry her
خَالِصَةًۭkhāliṣatanonly
لَّكَlakafor you
مِنminexcluding
دُونِdūniexcluding
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۗl-mu'minīnathe believers
قَدْqadCertainly
عَلِمْنَاʿalim'nāWe know
مَاmāwhat
فَرَضْنَاfaraḍnāWe have made obligatory
عَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimupon them
فِىٓfīconcerning
أَزْوَٰجِهِمْazwājihimtheir wives
وَمَاwamāand whom
مَلَكَتْmalakatthey rightfully possess
أَيْمَـٰنُهُمْaymānuhumthey rightfully possess
لِكَيْلَاlikaylāthat not
يَكُونَyakūnashould be
عَلَيْكَʿalaykaon you
حَرَجٌۭ ۗḥarajunany discomfort
وَكَانَwakānaAnd Allah is
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah is
غَفُورًۭاghafūranOft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمًۭاraḥīmanMost Merciful

Translation

O Prophet O Prophet Indeed, We [We] have made lawful to you your wives (to) whom you have given their bridal money and whom you rightfully possess you rightfully possess from those (whom) Allah has given Allah has given to you and (the) daughters (of) your paternal uncles and (the) daughters (of) your paternal aunts and (the) daughters (of) your maternal uncles and (the) daughters (of) your maternal aunts who emigrated with you and a woman believing if she gives herself to the Prophet if wishes the Prophet to marry her only for you excluding excluding the believers Certainly We know what We have made obligatory upon them concerning their wives and whom they rightfully possess they rightfully possess that not should be on you any discomfort And Allah is And Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful

Verse 51

۞ تُرْجِىtur'jīYou may defer
مَنmanwhom
تَشَآءُtashāuyou will
مِنْهُنَّmin'hunnaof them
وَتُـْٔوِىٓwatu'wīor you may take
إِلَيْكَilaykato yourself
مَنmanwhom
تَشَآءُ ۖtashāuyou will
وَمَنِwamaniAnd whoever
ٱبْتَغَيْتَib'taghaytayou desire
مِمَّنْmimmanof those whom
عَزَلْتَʿazaltayou (had) set aside
فَلَاfalāthen (there is) no
جُنَاحَjunāḥablame
عَلَيْكَ ۚʿalaykaupon you
ذَٰلِكَdhālikaThat
أَدْنَىٰٓadnā(is) more suitable
أَنanthat
تَقَرَّtaqarramay be cooled
أَعْيُنُهُنَّaʿyunuhunnatheir eyes
وَلَاwalāand not
يَحْزَنَّyaḥzannathey grieve
وَيَرْضَيْنَwayarḍaynaand they may be pleased
بِمَآbimāwith what
ءَاتَيْتَهُنَّātaytahunnayou have given them
كُلُّهُنَّ ۚkulluhunnaall of them
وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allah
يَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknows
مَاmāwhat
فِىfī(is) in
قُلُوبِكُمْ ۚqulūbikumyour hearts
وَكَانَwakānaAnd Allah is
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah is
عَلِيمًاʿalīmanAll-Knower
حَلِيمًۭاḥalīmanMost Forbearing

Translation

You may defer whom you will of them or you may take to yourself whom you will And whoever you desire of those whom you (had) set aside then (there is) no blame upon you That (is) more suitable that may be cooled their eyes and not they grieve and they may be pleased with what you have given them all of them And Allah knows what (is) in your hearts And Allah is And Allah is All-Knower Most Forbearing

Verse 52

لَّاlā(It is) not
يَحِلُّyaḥillulawful
لَكَlakafor you
ٱلنِّسَآءُl-nisāu(to marry) women
مِنۢminafter (this)
بَعْدُbaʿduafter (this)
وَلَآwalāand not
أَنanto
تَبَدَّلَtabaddalaexchange
بِهِنَّbihinnathem
مِنْminfor
أَزْوَٰجٍۢazwājin(other) wives
وَلَوْwalaweven if
أَعْجَبَكَaʿjabakapleases you
حُسْنُهُنَّḥus'nuhunnatheir beauty
إِلَّاillāexcept
مَاmāwhom
مَلَكَتْmalakatyou rightfully possess
يَمِينُكَ ۗyamīnukayou rightfully possess
وَكَانَwakānaAnd Allah is
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah is
عَلَىٰʿalāover
كُلِّkulliall
شَىْءٍۢshayinthings
رَّقِيبًۭاraqībanan Observer

Translation

(It is) not lawful for you (to marry) women after (this) after (this) and not to exchange them for (other) wives even if pleases you their beauty except whom you rightfully possess you rightfully possess And Allah is And Allah is over all things an Observer

Verse 53

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you who believe
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaO you who believe
ءَامَنُوا۟āmanūO you who believe
لَاlā(Do) not
تَدْخُلُوا۟tadkhulūenter
بُيُوتَbuyūta(the) houses
ٱلنَّبِىِّl-nabiyi(of) the Prophet
إِلَّآillāexcept
أَنanwhen
يُؤْذَنَyu'dhanapermission is given
لَكُمْlakumto you
إِلَىٰilāfor
طَعَامٍṭaʿāmina meal
غَيْرَghayrawithout
نَـٰظِرِينَnāẓirīnaawaiting
إِنَىٰهُināhuits preparation
وَلَـٰكِنْwalākinBut
إِذَاidhāwhen
دُعِيتُمْduʿītumyou are invited
فَٱدْخُلُوا۟fa-ud'khulūthen enter
فَإِذَاfa-idhāand when
طَعِمْتُمْṭaʿim'tumyou have eaten
فَٱنتَشِرُوا۟fa-intashirūthen disperse
وَلَاwalāand not
مُسْتَـْٔنِسِينَmus'tanisīnaseeking to remain
لِحَدِيثٍ ۚliḥadīthinfor a conversation
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ذَٰلِكُمْdhālikumthat
كَانَkānawas
يُؤْذِىyu'dhītroubling
ٱلنَّبِىَّl-nabiyathe Prophet
فَيَسْتَحْىِۦfayastaḥyīand he is shy
مِنكُمْ ۖminkumof (dismissing) you
وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuBut Allah
لَاlāis not shy
يَسْتَحْىِۦyastaḥyīis not shy
مِنَminaof
ٱلْحَقِّ ۚl-ḥaqithe truth
وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd when
سَأَلْتُمُوهُنَّsa-altumūhunnayou ask them
مَتَـٰعًۭاmatāʿan(for) anything
فَسْـَٔلُوهُنَّfasalūhunnathen ask them
مِنminfrom
وَرَآءِwarāibehind
حِجَابٍۢ ۚḥijābina screen
ذَٰلِكُمْdhālikumThat
أَطْهَرُaṭharu(is) purer
لِقُلُوبِكُمْliqulūbikumfor your hearts
وَقُلُوبِهِنَّ ۚwaqulūbihinnaand their hearts
وَمَاwamāAnd not
كَانَkānais
لَكُمْlakumfor you
أَنanthat
تُؤْذُوا۟tu'dhūyou trouble
رَسُولَrasūla(the) Messenger
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
وَلَآwalāand not
أَنanthat
تَنكِحُوٓا۟tankiḥūyou should marry
أَزْوَٰجَهُۥazwājahuhis wives
مِنۢminafter him
بَعْدِهِۦٓbaʿdihiafter him
أَبَدًا ۚabadanever
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ذَٰلِكُمْdhālikumthat
كَانَkānais
عِندَʿindanear
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
عَظِيمًاʿaẓīmanan enormity

Translation

O you who believe O you who believe O you who believe (Do) not enter (the) houses (of) the Prophet except when permission is given to you for a meal without awaiting its preparation But when you are invited then enter and when you have eaten then disperse and not seeking to remain for a conversation Indeed that was troubling the Prophet and he is shy of (dismissing) you But Allah is not shy is not shy of the truth And when you ask them (for) anything then ask them from behind a screen That (is) purer for your hearts and their hearts And not is for you that you trouble (the) Messenger (of) Allah and not that you should marry his wives after him after him ever Indeed that is near Allah an enormity

Verse 54

إِنinWhether
تُبْدُوا۟tub'dūyou reveal
شَيْـًٔاshayana thing
أَوْawor
تُخْفُوهُtukh'fūhuconceal it
فَإِنَّfa-innaindeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
كَانَkānais
بِكُلِّbikulliof all
شَىْءٍshayinthings
عَلِيمًۭاʿalīmanAll-Knower

Translation

Whether you reveal a thing or conceal it indeed Allah is of all things All-Knower

Verse 55

لَّاlā(There is) no
جُنَاحَjunāḥablame
عَلَيْهِنَّʿalayhinnaupon them
فِىٓfīconcerning
ءَابَآئِهِنَّābāihinnatheir fathers
وَلَآwalāand not
أَبْنَآئِهِنَّabnāihinnatheir sons
وَلَآwalāand not
إِخْوَٰنِهِنَّikh'wānihinnatheir brothers
وَلَآwalāand not
أَبْنَآءِabnāisons
إِخْوَٰنِهِنَّikh'wānihinna(of) their brothers
وَلَآwalāand not
أَبْنَآءِabnāisons
أَخَوَٰتِهِنَّakhawātihinna(of) their sisters
وَلَاwalāand not
نِسَآئِهِنَّnisāihinnatheir women
وَلَاwalāand not
مَاmāwhat
مَلَكَتْmalakatthey rightfully possess
أَيْمَـٰنُهُنَّ ۗaymānuhunnathey rightfully possess
وَٱتَّقِينَwa-ittaqīnaAnd fear
ٱللَّهَ ۚl-lahaAllah
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
كَانَkānais
عَلَىٰʿalāover
كُلِّkulliall
شَىْءٍۢshayinthings
شَهِيدًاshahīdana Witness

Translation

(There is) no blame upon them concerning their fathers and not their sons and not their brothers and not sons (of) their brothers and not sons (of) their sisters and not their women and not what they rightfully possess they rightfully possess And fear Allah Indeed Allah is over all things a Witness

Verse 56

إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
وَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتَهُۥwamalāikatahuand His Angels
يُصَلُّونَyuṣallūnasend blessings
عَلَىʿalāupon
ٱلنَّبِىِّ ۚl-nabiyithe Prophet
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you who believe
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaO you who believe
ءَامَنُوا۟āmanūO you who believe
صَلُّوا۟ṣallūSend blessings
عَلَيْهِʿalayhion him
وَسَلِّمُوا۟wasallimūand greet him
تَسْلِيمًاtaslīman(with) greetings

Translation

Indeed Allah and His Angels send blessings upon the Prophet O you who believe O you who believe O you who believe Send blessings on him and greet him (with) greetings

Verse 57

إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
يُؤْذُونَyu'dhūnaannoy
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
وَرَسُولَهُۥwarasūlahuand His Messenger
لَعَنَهُمُlaʿanahumuAllah has cursed them
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah has cursed them
فِىfīin
ٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yāthe world
وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِwal-ākhiratiand the Hereafter
وَأَعَدَّwa-aʿaddaand prepared
لَهُمْlahumfor them
عَذَابًۭاʿadhābana punishment
مُّهِينًۭاmuhīnanhumiliating

Translation

Indeed those who annoy Allah and His Messenger Allah has cursed them Allah has cursed them in the world and the Hereafter and prepared for them a punishment humiliating

Verse 58

وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those who
يُؤْذُونَyu'dhūnaharm
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believing men
وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِwal-mu'minātiand the believing women
بِغَيْرِbighayrifor other than
مَاmāwhat
ٱكْتَسَبُوا۟ik'tasabūthey have earned
فَقَدِfaqadithen certainly
ٱحْتَمَلُوا۟iḥ'tamalūthey bear
بُهْتَـٰنًۭاbuh'tānanfalse accusation
وَإِثْمًۭاwa-ith'manand sin
مُّبِينًۭاmubīnanmanifest

Translation

And those who harm the believing men and the believing women for other than what they have earned then certainly they bear false accusation and sin manifest

Verse 59

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO Prophet
ٱلنَّبِىُّl-nabiyuO Prophet
قُلqulSay
لِّأَزْوَٰجِكَli-azwājikato your wives
وَبَنَاتِكَwabanātikaand your daughters
وَنِسَآءِwanisāiand (the) women
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīna(of) the believers
يُدْنِينَyud'nīnato draw
عَلَيْهِنَّʿalayhinnaover themselves
مِنmin[of]
جَلَـٰبِيبِهِنَّ ۚjalābībihinnatheir outer garments
ذَٰلِكَdhālikaThat
أَدْنَىٰٓadnā(is) more suitable
أَنanthat
يُعْرَفْنَyuʿ'rafnathey should be known
فَلَاfalāand not
يُؤْذَيْنَ ۗyu'dhaynaharmed
وَكَانَwakānaAnd is
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah
غَفُورًۭاghafūranOft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمًۭاraḥīmanMost Merciful

Translation

O Prophet O Prophet Say to your wives and your daughters and (the) women (of) the believers to draw over themselves [of] their outer garments That (is) more suitable that they should be known and not harmed And is Allah Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful

Verse 60

۞ لَّئِنla-inIf
لَّمْlam(do) not
يَنتَهِyantahicease
ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقُونَl-munāfiqūnathe hypocrites
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaand those who
فِىfīin
قُلُوبِهِمqulūbihimtheir hearts
مَّرَضٌۭmaraḍun(is) a disease
وَٱلْمُرْجِفُونَwal-mur'jifūnaand those who spread rumors
فِىfīin
ٱلْمَدِينَةِl-madīnatithe city
لَنُغْرِيَنَّكَlanugh'riyannakaWe will let you overpower them
بِهِمْbihimWe will let you overpower them
ثُمَّthummathen
لَاlānot
يُجَاوِرُونَكَyujāwirūnakathey will remain your neighbors
فِيهَآfīhātherein
إِلَّاillāexcept
قَلِيلًۭاqalīlan(for) a little

Translation

If (do) not cease the hypocrites and those who in their hearts (is) a disease and those who spread rumors in the city We will let you overpower them We will let you overpower them then not they will remain your neighbors therein except (for) a little

Verse 61

مَّلْعُونِينَ ۖmalʿūnīnaAccursed
أَيْنَمَاaynamāwherever
ثُقِفُوٓا۟thuqifūthey are found
أُخِذُوا۟ukhidhūthey are seized
وَقُتِّلُوا۟waquttilūand massacred completely
تَقْتِيلًۭاtaqtīlanand massacred completely

Translation

Accursed wherever they are found they are seized and massacred completely and massacred completely

Verse 62

سُنَّةَsunnata(Such is the) Way
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
فِىfīwith
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
خَلَوْا۟khalawpassed away
مِنminbefore
قَبْلُ ۖqablubefore
وَلَنwalanand never
تَجِدَtajidayou will find
لِسُنَّةِlisunnatiin (the) Way
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
تَبْدِيلًۭاtabdīlanany change

Translation

(Such is the) Way (of) Allah with those who passed away before before and never you will find in (the) Way (of) Allah any change

Verse 63

يَسْـَٔلُكَyasalukaAsk you
ٱلنَّاسُl-nāsuthe people
عَنِʿaniabout
ٱلسَّاعَةِ ۖl-sāʿatithe Hour
قُلْqulSay
إِنَّمَاinnamāOnly
عِلْمُهَاʿil'muhāits knowledge
عِندَʿinda(is) with
ٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahiAllah
وَمَاwamāAnd what
يُدْرِيكَyud'rīkawill make you know
لَعَلَّlaʿallaPerhaps
ٱلسَّاعَةَl-sāʿatathe Hour
تَكُونُtakūnuis
قَرِيبًاqarībannear

Translation

Ask you the people about the Hour Say Only its knowledge (is) with Allah And what will make you know Perhaps the Hour is near

Verse 64

إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
لَعَنَlaʿanahas cursed
ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelievers
وَأَعَدَّwa-aʿaddaand has prepared
لَهُمْlahumfor them
سَعِيرًاsaʿīrana Blaze

Translation

Indeed Allah has cursed the disbelievers and has prepared for them a Blaze

Verse 65

خَـٰلِدِينَkhālidīnaAbiding
فِيهَآfīhātherein
أَبَدًۭا ۖabadanforever
لَّاlānot
يَجِدُونَyajidūnathey will find
وَلِيًّۭاwaliyyanany protector
وَلَاwalāand not
نَصِيرًۭاnaṣīranany helper

Translation

Abiding therein forever not they will find any protector and not any helper

Verse 66

يَوْمَyawma(The) Day
تُقَلَّبُtuqallabuwill be turned about
وُجُوهُهُمْwujūhuhumtheir faces
فِىfīin
ٱلنَّارِl-nārithe Fire
يَقُولُونَyaqūlūnathey will say
يَـٰلَيْتَنَآyālaytanāO we wish
أَطَعْنَاaṭaʿnāwe (had) obeyed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
وَأَطَعْنَاwa-aṭaʿnāand obeyed
ٱلرَّسُولَا۠l-rasūlāthe Messenger

Translation

(The) Day will be turned about their faces in the Fire they will say O we wish we (had) obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger

Verse 67

وَقَالُوا۟waqālūAnd they will say
رَبَّنَآrabbanāOur Lord
إِنَّآinnāIndeed, we
أَطَعْنَاaṭaʿnā[we] obeyed
سَادَتَنَاsādatanāour chiefs
وَكُبَرَآءَنَاwakubarāanāand our great men
فَأَضَلُّونَاfa-aḍallūnāand they misled us
ٱلسَّبِيلَا۠l-sabīlā(from) the Way

Translation

And they will say Our Lord Indeed, we [we] obeyed our chiefs and our great men and they misled us (from) the Way

Verse 68

رَبَّنَآrabbanāOur Lord
ءَاتِهِمْātihimGive them
ضِعْفَيْنِḍiʿ'faynidouble
مِنَmina[of]
ٱلْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābipunishment
وَٱلْعَنْهُمْwal-ʿanhumand curse them
لَعْنًۭاlaʿnan(with) a curse
كَبِيرًۭاkabīrangreat

Translation

Our Lord Give them double [of] punishment and curse them (with) a curse great

Verse 69

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you who believe
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaO you who believe
ءَامَنُوا۟āmanūO you who believe
لَاlā(Do) not
تَكُونُوا۟takūnūbe
كَٱلَّذِينَka-alladhīnalike those who
ءَاذَوْا۟ādhawabused
مُوسَىٰmūsāMusa
فَبَرَّأَهُfabarra-ahuthen Allah cleared him
ٱللَّهُl-lahuthen Allah cleared him
مِمَّاmimmāof what
قَالُوا۟ ۚqālūthey said
وَكَانَwakānaAnd he was
عِندَʿindanear
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
وَجِيهًۭاwajīhanhonorable

Translation

O you who believe O you who believe O you who believe (Do) not be like those who abused Musa then Allah cleared him then Allah cleared him of what they said And he was near Allah honorable

Verse 70

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you who believe
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaO you who believe
ءَامَنُوا۟āmanūO you who believe
ٱتَّقُوا۟ittaqūFear
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
وَقُولُوا۟waqūlūand speak
قَوْلًۭاqawlana word
سَدِيدًۭاsadīdanright

Translation

O you who believe O you who believe O you who believe Fear Allah and speak a word right

Verse 71

يُصْلِحْyuṣ'liḥHe will amend
لَكُمْlakumfor you
أَعْمَـٰلَكُمْaʿmālakumyour deeds
وَيَغْفِرْwayaghfirand forgive
لَكُمْlakumfor you
ذُنُوبَكُمْ ۗdhunūbakumyour sins
وَمَنwamanAnd whoever
يُطِعِyuṭiʿiobeys
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
وَرَسُولَهُۥwarasūlahuand His Messenger
فَقَدْfaqadcertainly
فَازَfāzahas attained
فَوْزًاfawzanan attainment
عَظِيمًاʿaẓīmangreat

Translation

He will amend for you your deeds and forgive for you your sins And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger certainly has attained an attainment great

Verse 72

إِنَّاinnāIndeed, We
عَرَضْنَاʿaraḍnā[We] offered
ٱلْأَمَانَةَl-amānatathe Trust
عَلَىʿalāto
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earth
وَٱلْجِبَالِwal-jibāliand the mountains
فَأَبَيْنَfa-abaynabut they refused
أَنanto
يَحْمِلْنَهَاyaḥmil'nahābear it
وَأَشْفَقْنَwa-ashfaqnaand they feared
مِنْهَاmin'hāfrom it
وَحَمَلَهَاwaḥamalahābut bore it
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ ۖl-insānuthe man
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, he
كَانَkānawas
ظَلُومًۭاẓalūmanunjust
جَهُولًۭاjahūlanignorant

Translation

Indeed, We [We] offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains but they refused to bear it and they feared from it but bore it the man Indeed, he was unjust ignorant

Verse 73

لِّيُعَذِّبَliyuʿadhibaSo that Allah may punish
ٱللَّهُl-lahuSo that Allah may punish
ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَl-munāfiqīnathe hypocrite men
وَٱلْمُنَـٰفِقَـٰتِwal-munāfiqātiand the hypocrite women
وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَwal-mush'rikīnaand the polytheist men
وَٱلْمُشْرِكَـٰتِwal-mush'rikātiand the polytheist women
وَيَتُوبَwayatūbaand Allah will turn (in Mercy)
ٱللَّهُl-lahuand Allah will turn (in Mercy)
عَلَىʿalāto
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believing men
وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ ۗwal-mu'minātiand the believing women
وَكَانَwakānaAnd Allah is
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah is
غَفُورًۭاghafūranOft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمًۢاraḥīmanMost Merciful

Translation

So that Allah may punish So that Allah may punish the hypocrite men and the hypocrite women and the polytheist men and the polytheist women and Allah will turn (in Mercy) and Allah will turn (in Mercy) to the believing men and the believing women And Allah is And Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful
