Verse 1

حمٓhha-meemHa Meem

Translation

Ha Meem

Verse 2

عٓسٓقٓain-seen-qafAyn Seen Qaaf

Translation

Ayn Seen Qaaf

Verse 3

كَذَٰلِكَkadhālikaThus
يُوحِىٓyūḥīreveals
إِلَيْكَilaykato you
وَإِلَىwa-ilāand to
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose
مِنminbefore you
قَبْلِكَqablikabefore you
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah
ٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzuthe All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمُl-ḥakīmuthe All-Wise

Translation

Thus reveals to you and to those before you before you Allah the All-Mighty the All-Wise

Verse 4

لَهُۥlahuTo Him
مَاmā(belong) whatever
فِىfī(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavens
وَمَاwamāand whatever
فِىfī(is) in
ٱلْأَرْضِ ۖl-arḍithe earth
وَهُوَwahuwaand He
ٱلْعَلِىُّl-ʿaliyu(is) the Most High
ٱلْعَظِيمُl-ʿaẓīmuthe Most Great

Translation

To Him (belong) whatever (is) in the heavens and whatever (is) in the earth and He (is) the Most High the Most Great

Verse 5

تَكَادُtakāduAlmost
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُl-samāwātuthe heavens
يَتَفَطَّرْنَyatafaṭṭarnabreak up
مِنminfrom
فَوْقِهِنَّ ۚfawqihinnaabove them
وَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُwal-malāikatuand the Angels
يُسَبِّحُونَyusabbiḥūnaglorify
بِحَمْدِbiḥamdi(the) praise
رَبِّهِمْrabbihim(of) their Lord
وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَwayastaghfirūnaand ask for forgiveness
لِمَنlimanfor those
فِىfīon
ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗl-arḍithe earth
أَلَآalāUnquestionably
إِنَّinnaindeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
هُوَhuwaHe
ٱلْغَفُورُl-ghafūru(is) the Oft-Forgiving
ٱلرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful

Translation

Almost the heavens break up from above them and the Angels glorify (the) praise (of) their Lord and ask for forgiveness for those on the earth Unquestionably indeed Allah He (is) the Oft-Forgiving the Most Merciful

Verse 6

وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those who
ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ittakhadhūtake
مِنminbesides
دُونِهِۦٓdūnihibesides
أَوْلِيَآءَawliyāaprotectors
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah
حَفِيظٌḥafīẓun(is) a Guardian
عَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimover them
وَمَآwamāand not
أَنتَantayou
عَلَيْهِمʿalayhim(are) over them
بِوَكِيلٍۢbiwakīlina manager

Translation

And those who take besides besides protectors Allah (is) a Guardian over them and not you (are) over them a manager

Verse 7

وَكَذَٰلِكَwakadhālikaAnd thus
أَوْحَيْنَآawḥaynāWe have revealed
إِلَيْكَilaykato you
قُرْءَانًاqur'ānana Quran
عَرَبِيًّۭاʿarabiyyan(in) Arabic
لِّتُنذِرَlitundhirathat you may warn
أُمَّumma(the) mother
ٱلْقُرَىٰl-qurā(of) the towns
وَمَنْwamanand whoever
حَوْلَهَاḥawlahā(is) around it
وَتُنذِرَwatundhiraand warn
يَوْمَyawma(of the) Day
ٱلْجَمْعِl-jamʿi(of) Assembly
لَاlā(there is) no
رَيْبَraybadoubt
فِيهِ ۚfīhiin it
فَرِيقٌۭfarīqunA party
فِىfī(will be) in
ٱلْجَنَّةِl-janatiParadise
وَفَرِيقٌۭwafarīqunand a party
فِىfīin
ٱلسَّعِيرِl-saʿīrithe Blazing Fire

Translation

And thus We have revealed to you a Quran (in) Arabic that you may warn (the) mother (of) the towns and whoever (is) around it and warn (of the) Day (of) Assembly (there is) no doubt in it A party (will be) in Paradise and a party in the Blazing Fire

Verse 8

وَلَوْwalawAnd if
شَآءَshāaAllah willed
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah willed
لَجَعَلَهُمْlajaʿalahumHe could have made them
أُمَّةًۭummatana community
وَٰحِدَةًۭwāḥidatanone
وَلَـٰكِنwalākinbut
يُدْخِلُyud'khiluHe admits
مَنmanwhom
يَشَآءُyashāuHe wills
فِىfīin (to)
رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚraḥmatihiHis Mercy
وَٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَwal-ẓālimūnaAnd the wrongdoers
مَاmānot
لَهُمlahumfor them
مِّنminany
وَلِىٍّۢwaliyyinprotector
وَلَاwalāand not
نَصِيرٍnaṣīrinany helper

Translation

And if Allah willed Allah willed He could have made them a community one but He admits whom He wills in (to) His Mercy And the wrongdoers not for them any protector and not any helper

Verse 9

أَمِamiOr
ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ittakhadhūhave they taken
مِنminbesides Him
دُونِهِۦٓdūnihibesides Him
أَوْلِيَآءَ ۖawliyāaprotectors
فَٱللَّهُfal-lahuBut Allah
هُوَhuwaHe
ٱلْوَلِىُّl-waliyu(is) the Protector
وَهُوَwahuwaand He
يُحْىِyuḥ'yīgives life
ٱلْمَوْتَىٰl-mawtā(to) the dead
وَهُوَwahuwaAnd He
عَلَىٰʿalā(is) on
كُلِّkullievery
شَىْءٍۢshayinthing
قَدِيرٌۭqadīrunAll-Powerful

Translation

Or have they taken besides Him besides Him protectors But Allah He (is) the Protector and He gives life (to) the dead And He (is) on every thing All-Powerful

Verse 10

وَمَاwamāAnd whatever
ٱخْتَلَفْتُمْikh'talaftumyou differ
فِيهِfīhiin it
مِنminof
شَىْءٍۢshayina thing
فَحُكْمُهُۥٓfaḥuk'muhuthen its ruling
إِلَىilā(is) to
ٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahiAllah
ذَٰلِكُمُdhālikumuThat
ٱللَّهُl-lahu(is) Allah
رَبِّىrabbīmy Lord
عَلَيْهِʿalayhiupon Him
تَوَكَّلْتُtawakkaltuI put my trust
وَإِلَيْهِwa-ilayhiand to Him
أُنِيبُunībuI turn

Translation

And whatever you differ in it of a thing then its ruling (is) to Allah That (is) Allah my Lord upon Him I put my trust and to Him I turn

Verse 11

فَاطِرُfāṭiru(The) Creator
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚwal-arḍiand the earth
جَعَلَjaʿalaHe made
لَكُمlakumfor you
مِّنْminfrom
أَنفُسِكُمْanfusikumyourselves
أَزْوَٰجًۭاazwājanmates
وَمِنَwaminaand among
ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِl-anʿāmithe cattle
أَزْوَٰجًۭا ۖazwājanmates
يَذْرَؤُكُمْyadhra-ukumHe multiplies you
فِيهِ ۚfīhithereby
لَيْسَlaysa(There) is not
كَمِثْلِهِۦkamith'lihilike Him
شَىْءٌۭ ۖshayonanything
وَهُوَwahuwaand He
ٱلسَّمِيعُl-samīʿu(is) the All-Hearer
ٱلْبَصِيرُl-baṣīruthe All-Seer

Translation

(The) Creator (of) the heavens and the earth He made for you from yourselves mates and among the cattle mates He multiplies you thereby (There) is not like Him anything and He (is) the All-Hearer the All-Seer

Verse 12

لَهُۥlahuTo Him (belongs)
مَقَالِيدُmaqālīdu(the) keys
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖwal-arḍiand the earth
يَبْسُطُyabsuṭuHe extends
ٱلرِّزْقَl-riz'qathe provision
لِمَنlimanfor whom
يَشَآءُyashāuHe wills
وَيَقْدِرُ ۚwayaqdiruand restricts
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, He
بِكُلِّbikulliof every
شَىْءٍshayinthing
عَلِيمٌۭʿalīmun(is) All-Knower

Translation

To Him (belongs) (the) keys (of) the heavens and the earth He extends the provision for whom He wills and restricts Indeed, He of every thing (is) All-Knower

Verse 13

۞ شَرَعَsharaʿaHe has ordained
لَكُمlakumfor you
مِّنَminaof
ٱلدِّينِl-dīnithe religion
مَاmāwhat
وَصَّىٰwaṣṣāHe enjoined
بِهِۦbihiupon
نُوحًۭاnūḥanNuh
وَٱلَّذِىٓwa-alladhīand that which
أَوْحَيْنَآawḥaynāWe have revealed
إِلَيْكَilaykato you
وَمَاwamāand what
وَصَّيْنَاwaṣṣaynāWe enjoined
بِهِۦٓbihiupon
إِبْرَٰهِيمَib'rāhīmaIbrahim
وَمُوسَىٰwamūsāand Musa
وَعِيسَىٰٓ ۖwaʿīsāand Isa
أَنْanTo
أَقِيمُوا۟aqīmūestablish
ٱلدِّينَl-dīnathe religion
وَلَاwalāand not
تَتَفَرَّقُوا۟tatafarraqūbe divided
فِيهِ ۚfīhitherein
كَبُرَkaburaIs difficult
عَلَىʿalāon
ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَl-mush'rikīnathe polytheists
مَاmāwhat
تَدْعُوهُمْtadʿūhumyou call them
إِلَيْهِ ۚilayhito it
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah
يَجْتَبِىٓyajtabīchooses
إِلَيْهِilayhifor Himself
مَنmanwhom
يَشَآءُyashāuHe wills
وَيَهْدِىٓwayahdīand guides
إِلَيْهِilayhito Himself
مَنmanwhoever
يُنِيبُyunībuturns

Translation

He has ordained for you of the religion what He enjoined upon Nuh and that which We have revealed to you and what We enjoined upon Ibrahim and Musa and Isa To establish the religion and not be divided therein Is difficult on the polytheists what you call them to it Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns

Verse 14

وَمَاwamāAnd not
تَفَرَّقُوٓا۟tafarraqūthey became divided
إِلَّاillāuntil
مِنۢminafter
بَعْدِbaʿdiafter
مَاmā[what]
جَآءَهُمُjāahumucame to them
ٱلْعِلْمُl-ʿil'muthe knowledge
بَغْيًۢاbaghyan(out of) rivalry
بَيْنَهُمْ ۚbaynahumamong them
وَلَوْلَاwalawlāAnd if not
كَلِمَةٌۭkalimatun(for) a word
سَبَقَتْsabaqat(that) preceded
مِنminfrom
رَّبِّكَrabbikayour Lord
إِلَىٰٓilāfor
أَجَلٍۢajalina term
مُّسَمًّۭىmusammanspecified
لَّقُضِىَlaquḍiyasurely, it (would have) been settled
بَيْنَهُمْ ۚbaynahumbetween them
وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeed
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
أُورِثُوا۟ūrithūwere made to inherit
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَl-kitābathe Book
مِنۢminafter them
بَعْدِهِمْbaʿdihimafter them
لَفِىlafī(are) surely in
شَكٍّۢshakkindoubt
مِّنْهُmin'huconcerning it
مُرِيبٍۢmurībindisquieting

Translation

And not they became divided until after after [what] came to them the knowledge (out of) rivalry among them And if not (for) a word (that) preceded from your Lord for a term specified surely, it (would have) been settled between them And indeed those who were made to inherit the Book after them after them (are) surely in doubt concerning it disquieting

Verse 15

فَلِذَٰلِكَfalidhālikaSo to that
فَٱدْعُ ۖfa-ud'ʿuthen invite
وَٱسْتَقِمْwa-is'taqimand stand firm
كَمَآkamāas
أُمِرْتَ ۖumir'tayou are commanded
وَلَاwalāand (do) not
تَتَّبِعْtattabiʿfollow
أَهْوَآءَهُمْ ۖahwāahumtheir desires
وَقُلْwaqulbut say
ءَامَنتُāmantuI believe
بِمَآbimāin what
أَنزَلَanzalaAllah has sent down
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah has sent down
مِنminof
كِتَـٰبٍۢ ۖkitābin(the) Book
وَأُمِرْتُwa-umir'tuand I am commanded
لِأَعْدِلَli-aʿdilathat I do justice
بَيْنَكُمُ ۖbaynakumubetween you
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah
رَبُّنَاrabbunā(is) our Lord
وَرَبُّكُمْ ۖwarabbukumand your Lord
لَنَآlanāFor us
أَعْمَـٰلُنَاaʿmālunāour deeds
وَلَكُمْwalakumand for you
أَعْمَـٰلُكُمْ ۖaʿmālukumyour deeds
لَاlā(There is) no
حُجَّةَḥujjataargument
بَيْنَنَاbaynanābetween us
وَبَيْنَكُمُ ۖwabaynakumuand between you
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah
يَجْمَعُyajmaʿuwill assemble
بَيْنَنَا ۖbaynanā[between] us
وَإِلَيْهِwa-ilayhiand to Him
ٱلْمَصِيرُl-maṣīru(is) the final return

Translation

So to that then invite and stand firm as you are commanded and (do) not follow their desires but say I believe in what Allah has sent down Allah has sent down of (the) Book and I am commanded that I do justice between you Allah (is) our Lord and your Lord For us our deeds and for you your deeds (There is) no argument between us and between you Allah will assemble [between] us and to Him (is) the final return

Verse 16

وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those who
يُحَآجُّونَyuḥājjūnaargue
فِىfīconcerning
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
مِنۢminafter
بَعْدِbaʿdiafter
مَاmā[what]
ٱسْتُجِيبَus'tujībaresponse has been made to Him
لَهُۥlahuresponse has been made to Him
حُجَّتُهُمْḥujjatuhumtheir argument
دَاحِضَةٌdāḥiḍatun(is) invalid
عِندَʿindawith
رَبِّهِمْrabbihimtheir Lord
وَعَلَيْهِمْwaʿalayhimand upon them
غَضَبٌۭghaḍabun(is) wrath
وَلَهُمْwalahumand for them
عَذَابٌۭʿadhābun(is) a punishment
شَدِيدٌshadīdunsevere

Translation

And those who argue concerning Allah after after [what] response has been made to Him response has been made to Him their argument (is) invalid with their Lord and upon them (is) wrath and for them (is) a punishment severe

Verse 17

ٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah
ٱلَّذِىٓalladhī(is) the One Who
أَنزَلَanzala(has) sent down
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَl-kitābathe Book
بِٱلْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiin truth
وَٱلْمِيزَانَ ۗwal-mīzānaand the Balance
وَمَاwamāAnd what
يُدْرِيكَyud'rīkawill make you know
لَعَلَّlaʿallaPerhaps
ٱلسَّاعَةَl-sāʿatathe Hour
قَرِيبٌۭqarībun(is) near

Translation

Allah (is) the One Who (has) sent down the Book in truth and the Balance And what will make you know Perhaps the Hour (is) near

Verse 18

يَسْتَعْجِلُyastaʿjiluSeek to hasten
بِهَاbihā[of] it
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
لَاlā(do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieve
بِهَا ۖbihāin it
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaand those who
ءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieve
مُشْفِقُونَmush'fiqūna(are) fearful
مِنْهَاmin'hāof it
وَيَعْلَمُونَwayaʿlamūnaand know
أَنَّهَاannahāthat it
ٱلْحَقُّ ۗl-ḥaqu(is) the truth
أَلَآalāUnquestionably
إِنَّinnaindeed
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
يُمَارُونَyumārūnadispute
فِىfīconcerning
ٱلسَّاعَةِl-sāʿatithe Hour
لَفِىlafī(are) certainly in
ضَلَـٰلٍۭḍalālinerror
بَعِيدٍbaʿīdinfar

Translation

Seek to hasten [of] it those who (do) not believe in it and those who believe (are) fearful of it and know that it (is) the truth Unquestionably indeed those who dispute concerning the Hour (are) certainly in error far

Verse 19

ٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah
لَطِيفٌۢlaṭīfun(is) Subtle
بِعِبَادِهِۦbiʿibādihiwith His slaves
يَرْزُقُyarzuquHe gives provision
مَنman(to) whom
يَشَآءُ ۖyashāuHe wills
وَهُوَwahuwaAnd He
ٱلْقَوِىُّl-qawiyu(is) the All-Strong
ٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzuthe All-Mighty

Translation

Allah (is) Subtle with His slaves He gives provision (to) whom He wills And He (is) the All-Strong the All-Mighty

Verse 20

مَنmanWhoever
كَانَkānais
يُرِيدُyurīdudesiring
حَرْثَḥartha(the) harvest
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhirati(of) the Hereafter
نَزِدْnazidWe increase
لَهُۥlahufor him
فِىfīin
حَرْثِهِۦ ۖḥarthihihis harvest
وَمَنwamanAnd whoever
كَانَkānais
يُرِيدُyurīdudesiring
حَرْثَḥartha(the) harvest
ٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yā(of) the world
نُؤْتِهِۦnu'tihiWe give him
مِنْهَاmin'hāof it
وَمَاwamābut not
لَهُۥlahufor him
فِىfīin
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhiratithe Hereafter
مِنminany
نَّصِيبٍnaṣībinshare

Translation

Whoever is desiring (the) harvest (of) the Hereafter We increase for him in his harvest And whoever is desiring (the) harvest (of) the world We give him of it but not for him in the Hereafter any share

Verse 21

أَمْamOr
لَهُمْlahumfor them
شُرَكَـٰٓؤُا۟shurakāu(are) partners
شَرَعُوا۟sharaʿūwho have ordained
لَهُمlahumfor them
مِّنَminaof
ٱلدِّينِl-dīnithe religion
مَاmāwhat
لَمْlamnot
يَأْذَنۢyadhanAllah has given permission of it
بِهِbihiAllah has given permission of it
ٱللَّهُ ۚl-lahuAllah has given permission of it
وَلَوْلَاwalawlāAnd if not
كَلِمَةُkalimatu(for) a word
ٱلْفَصْلِl-faṣlidecisive
لَقُضِىَlaquḍiyasurely, it (would have) been judged
بَيْنَهُمْ ۗbaynahumbetween them
وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeed
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
لَهُمْlahumfor them
عَذَابٌʿadhābun(is a) punishment
أَلِيمٌۭalīmunpainful

Translation

Or for them (are) partners who have ordained for them of the religion what not Allah has given permission of it Allah has given permission of it Allah has given permission of it And if not (for) a word decisive surely, it (would have) been judged between them And indeed the wrongdoers for them (is a) punishment painful

Verse 22

تَرَىtarāYou will see
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
مُشْفِقِينَmush'fiqīnafearful
مِمَّاmimmāof what
كَسَبُوا۟kasabūthey earned
وَهُوَwahuwaand it
وَاقِعٌۢwāqiʿun(will) befall
بِهِمْ ۗbihim[on] them
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those who
ءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieve
وَعَمِلُوا۟waʿamilūand do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِl-ṣāliḥātirighteous deeds
فِىfī(will be) in
رَوْضَاتِrawḍātiflowering meadows
ٱلْجَنَّاتِ ۖl-janāti(of) the Gardens
لَهُمlahumfor them
مَّاmā(is) whatever
يَشَآءُونَyashāūnathey wish
عِندَʿindawith
رَبِّهِمْ ۚrabbihimtheir Lord
ذَٰلِكَdhālikaThat
هُوَhuwait
ٱلْفَضْلُl-faḍlu(is) the Bounty
ٱلْكَبِيرُl-kabīruthe Great

Translation

You will see the wrongdoers fearful of what they earned and it (will) befall [on] them And those who believe and do righteous deeds (will be) in flowering meadows (of) the Gardens for them (is) whatever they wish with their Lord That it (is) the Bounty the Great

Verse 23

ذَٰلِكَdhālikaThat
ٱلَّذِىalladhī(is of) which
يُبَشِّرُyubashiruAllah gives glad tidings
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah gives glad tidings
عِبَادَهُʿibādahu(to) His slaves
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
ءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieve
وَعَمِلُوا۟waʿamilūand do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ ۗl-ṣāliḥātirighteous deeds
قُلqulSay
لَّآlāNot
أَسْـَٔلُكُمْasalukumI ask you
عَلَيْهِʿalayhifor it
أَجْرًاajranany payment
إِلَّاillāexcept
ٱلْمَوَدَّةَl-mawadatathe love
فِىfīamong
ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ ۗl-qur'bāthe relatives
وَمَنwamanAnd whoever
يَقْتَرِفْyaqtarifearns
حَسَنَةًۭḥasanatanany good
نَّزِدْnazidWe increase
لَهُۥlahufor him
فِيهَاfīhātherein
حُسْنًا ۚḥus'nangood
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
غَفُورٌۭghafūrun(is) Oft-Forgiving
شَكُورٌshakūrunAll-Appreciative

Translation

That (is of) which Allah gives glad tidings Allah gives glad tidings (to) His slaves those who believe and do righteous deeds Say Not I ask you for it any payment except the love among the relatives And whoever earns any good We increase for him therein good Indeed Allah (is) Oft-Forgiving All-Appreciative

Verse 24

أَمْamOr
يَقُولُونَyaqūlūna(do) they say
ٱفْتَرَىٰif'tarāHe has invented
عَلَىʿalāabout
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
كَذِبًۭا ۖkadhibana lie
فَإِنfa-inBut if
يَشَإِyasha-iAllah willed
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah willed
يَخْتِمْyakhtimHe would seal
عَلَىٰʿalā[over]
قَلْبِكَ ۗqalbikayour heart
وَيَمْحُwayamḥuAnd Allah eliminates
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah eliminates
ٱلْبَـٰطِلَl-bāṭilathe falsehood
وَيُحِقُّwayuḥiqquand establishes
ٱلْحَقَّl-ḥaqathe truth
بِكَلِمَـٰتِهِۦٓ ۚbikalimātihiby His Words
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, He
عَلِيمٌۢʿalīmun(is) All-Knowing
بِذَاتِbidhātiof what
ٱلصُّدُورِl-ṣudūri(is in) the breasts

Translation

Or (do) they say He has invented about Allah a lie But if Allah willed Allah willed He would seal [over] your heart And Allah eliminates And Allah eliminates the falsehood and establishes the truth by His Words Indeed, He (is) All-Knowing of what (is in) the breasts

Verse 25

وَهُوَwahuwaAnd He
ٱلَّذِىalladhī(is) the One Who
يَقْبَلُyaqbaluaccepts
ٱلتَّوْبَةَl-tawbatathe repentance
عَنْʿanof
عِبَادِهِۦʿibādihiHis slaves
وَيَعْفُوا۟wayaʿfūand pardons
عَنِʿani[of]
ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِl-sayiātithe evil
وَيَعْلَمُwayaʿlamuand He knows
مَاmāwhat
تَفْعَلُونَtafʿalūnayou do

Translation

And He (is) the One Who accepts the repentance of His slaves and pardons [of] the evil and He knows what you do

Verse 26

وَيَسْتَجِيبُwayastajībuAnd He answers
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
ءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieve
وَعَمِلُوا۟waʿamilūand do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِl-ṣāliḥātirighteous deeds
وَيَزِيدُهُمwayazīduhumand increases (for) them
مِّنminfrom
فَضْلِهِۦ ۚfaḍlihiHis Bounty
وَٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَwal-kāfirūnaAnd the disbelievers
لَهُمْlahumfor them
عَذَابٌۭʿadhābun(will be) a punishment
شَدِيدٌۭshadīdunsevere

Translation

And He answers those who believe and do righteous deeds and increases (for) them from His Bounty And the disbelievers for them (will be) a punishment severe

Verse 27

۞ وَلَوْwalawAnd if
بَسَطَbasaṭaAllah extends
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah extends
ٱلرِّزْقَl-riz'qathe provision
لِعِبَادِهِۦliʿibādihifor His slaves
لَبَغَوْا۟labaghawsurely they would rebel
فِىfīin
ٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earth
وَلَـٰكِنwalākinbut
يُنَزِّلُyunazziluHe sends down
بِقَدَرٍۢbiqadarinin (due) measure
مَّاmāwhat
يَشَآءُ ۚyashāuHe wills
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, He
بِعِبَادِهِۦbiʿibādihiof His slaves
خَبِيرٌۢkhabīrun(is) All-Aware
بَصِيرٌۭbaṣīrunAll-Seer

Translation

And if Allah extends Allah extends the provision for His slaves surely they would rebel in the earth but He sends down in (due) measure what He wills Indeed, He of His slaves (is) All-Aware All-Seer

Verse 28

وَهُوَwahuwaAnd He
ٱلَّذِىalladhī(is) the One Who
يُنَزِّلُyunazzilusends down
ٱلْغَيْثَl-ghaythathe rain
مِنۢminafter
بَعْدِbaʿdiafter
مَاmā[what]
قَنَطُوا۟qanaṭūthey have despaired
وَيَنشُرُwayanshuruand spreads
رَحْمَتَهُۥ ۚraḥmatahuHis mercy
وَهُوَwahuwaAnd He
ٱلْوَلِىُّl-waliyu(is) the Protector
ٱلْحَمِيدُl-ḥamīduthe Praiseworthy

Translation

And He (is) the One Who sends down the rain after after [what] they have despaired and spreads His mercy And He (is) the Protector the Praiseworthy

Verse 29

وَمِنْwaminAnd among
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦāyātihiHis Signs
خَلْقُkhalqu(is the) creation
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earth
وَمَاwamāand whatever
بَثَّbathaHe has dispersed
فِيهِمَاfīhimāin both of them
مِنminof
دَآبَّةٍۢ ۚdābbatin(the) creatures
وَهُوَwahuwaAnd He
عَلَىٰʿalā(is) over
جَمْعِهِمْjamʿihimtheir gathering
إِذَاidhāwhen
يَشَآءُyashāuHe wills
قَدِيرٌۭqadīrunAll-Powerful

Translation

And among His Signs (is the) creation (of) the heavens and the earth and whatever He has dispersed in both of them of (the) creatures And He (is) over their gathering when He wills All-Powerful

Verse 30

وَمَآwamāAnd whatever
أَصَـٰبَكُمaṣābakumbefalls you
مِّنminof
مُّصِيبَةٍۢmuṣībatin(the) misfortune
فَبِمَاfabimā(is because) of what
كَسَبَتْkasabathave earned
أَيْدِيكُمْaydīkumyour hands
وَيَعْفُوا۟wayaʿfūBut He pardons
عَنʿan[from]
كَثِيرٍۢkathīrinmuch

Translation

And whatever befalls you of (the) misfortune (is because) of what have earned your hands But He pardons [from] much

Verse 31

وَمَآwamāAnd not
أَنتُمantumyou
بِمُعْجِزِينَbimuʿ'jizīna(can) escape
فِىfīin
ٱلْأَرْضِ ۖl-arḍithe earth
وَمَاwamāand not
لَكُمlakumfor you
مِّنminbesides
دُونِdūnibesides
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
مِنminany
وَلِىٍّۢwaliyyinprotector
وَلَاwalāand not
نَصِيرٍۢnaṣīrinany helper

Translation

And not you (can) escape in the earth and not for you besides besides Allah any protector and not any helper

Verse 32

وَمِنْwaminAnd among
ءَايَـٰتِهِāyātihiHis Signs
ٱلْجَوَارِl-jawāri(are) the ships
فِىfīin
ٱلْبَحْرِl-baḥrithe sea
كَٱلْأَعْلَـٰمِkal-aʿlāmilike [the] mountains

Translation

And among His Signs (are) the ships in the sea like [the] mountains

Verse 33

إِنinIf
يَشَأْyashaHe wills
يُسْكِنِyus'kiniHe can cause the wind to become still
ٱلرِّيحَl-rīḥaHe can cause the wind to become still
فَيَظْلَلْنَfayaẓlalnathen they would remain
رَوَاكِدَrawākidamotionless
عَلَىٰʿalāon
ظَهْرِهِۦٓ ۚẓahrihiits back
إِنَّinnaIndeed
فِىfīin
ذَٰلِكَdhālikathat
لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢlaāyātinsurely (are) Signs
لِّكُلِّlikullifor everyone
صَبَّارٍۢṣabbārinpatient
شَكُورٍshakūrin(and) grateful

Translation

If He wills He can cause the wind to become still He can cause the wind to become still then they would remain motionless on its back Indeed in that surely (are) Signs for everyone patient (and) grateful

Verse 34

أَوْawOr
يُوبِقْهُنَّyūbiq'hunnaHe could destroy them
بِمَاbimāfor what
كَسَبُوا۟kasabūthey have earned
وَيَعْفُwayaʿfubut He pardons
عَنʿan[from]
كَثِيرٍۢkathīrinmuch

Translation

Or He could destroy them for what they have earned but He pardons [from] much

Verse 35

وَيَعْلَمَwayaʿlamaAnd may know
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
يُجَـٰدِلُونَyujādilūnadispute
فِىٓfīconcerning
ءَايَـٰتِنَاāyātināOur Signs
مَاmā(that) not
لَهُمlahumfor them
مِّنminany
مَّحِيصٍۢmaḥīṣinplace of refuge

Translation

And may know those who dispute concerning Our Signs (that) not for them any place of refuge

Verse 36

فَمَآfamāSo whatever
أُوتِيتُمūtītumyou are given
مِّنminof
شَىْءٍۢshayina thing
فَمَتَـٰعُfamatāʿu(is) but a passing enjoyment
ٱلْحَيَوٰةِl-ḥayati(for) the life
ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖl-dun'yā(of) the world
وَمَاwamāBut what
عِندَʿinda(is) with
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
خَيْرٌۭkhayrun(is) better
وَأَبْقَىٰwa-abqāand more lasting
لِلَّذِينَlilladhīnafor those who
ءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieve
وَعَلَىٰwaʿalāand upon
رَبِّهِمْrabbihimtheir Lord
يَتَوَكَّلُونَyatawakkalūnaput (their) trust

Translation

So whatever you are given of a thing (is) but a passing enjoyment (for) the life (of) the world But what (is) with Allah (is) better and more lasting for those who believe and upon their Lord put (their) trust

Verse 37

وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those who
يَجْتَنِبُونَyajtanibūnaavoid
كَبَـٰٓئِرَkabāira(the) greater
ٱلْإِثْمِl-ith'misins
وَٱلْفَوَٰحِشَwal-fawāḥishaand the immoralities
وَإِذَاwa-idhāand when
مَاmāand when
غَضِبُوا۟ghaḍibūthey are angry
هُمْhumthey
يَغْفِرُونَyaghfirūnaforgive

Translation

And those who avoid (the) greater sins and the immoralities and when and when they are angry they forgive

Verse 38

وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those who
ٱسْتَجَابُوا۟is'tajābūrespond
لِرَبِّهِمْlirabbihimto their Lord
وَأَقَامُوا۟wa-aqāmūand establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَl-ṣalataprayer
وَأَمْرُهُمْwa-amruhumand their affairs
شُورَىٰshūrā(are conducted by) consultation
بَيْنَهُمْbaynahumamong them
وَمِمَّاwamimmāand from what
رَزَقْنَـٰهُمْrazaqnāhumWe have provided them
يُنفِقُونَyunfiqūnathey spend

Translation

And those who respond to their Lord and establish prayer and their affairs (are conducted by) consultation among them and from what We have provided them they spend

Verse 39

وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those who
إِذَآidhāwhen
أَصَابَهُمُaṣābahumustrikes them
ٱلْبَغْىُl-baghyutyranny
هُمْhumthey
يَنتَصِرُونَyantaṣirūnadefend themselves

Translation

And those who when strikes them tyranny they defend themselves

Verse 40

وَجَزَٰٓؤُا۟wajazāu(The) recompense
سَيِّئَةٍۢsayyi-atin(of) an evil
سَيِّئَةٌۭsayyi-atun(is) an evil
مِّثْلُهَا ۖmith'luhālike it
فَمَنْfamanBut whoever
عَفَاʿafāpardons
وَأَصْلَحَwa-aṣlaḥaand makes reconciliation
فَأَجْرُهُۥfa-ajruhuthen his reward
عَلَىʿalā(is) on
ٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahiAllah
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, He
لَاlā(does) not
يُحِبُّyuḥibbulike
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers

Translation

(The) recompense (of) an evil (is) an evil like it But whoever pardons and makes reconciliation then his reward (is) on Allah Indeed, He (does) not like the wrongdoers

Verse 41

وَلَمَنِwalamaniAnd surely whosoever
ٱنتَصَرَintaṣaradefends himself
بَعْدَbaʿdaafter
ظُلْمِهِۦẓul'mihihe has been wronged
فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَfa-ulāikathen those
مَاmānot
عَلَيْهِمʿalayhim(is) against them
مِّنminany
سَبِيلٍsabīlinway

Translation

And surely whosoever defends himself after he has been wronged then those not (is) against them any way

Verse 42

إِنَّمَاinnamāOnly
ٱلسَّبِيلُl-sabīluthe way
عَلَىʿalāagainst
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
يَظْلِمُونَyaẓlimūnaoppress
ٱلنَّاسَl-nāsathe people
وَيَبْغُونَwayabghūnaand rebel
فِىfīin
ٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earth
بِغَيْرِbighayriwithout
ٱلْحَقِّ ۚl-ḥaqiright
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThose
لَهُمْlahumfor them
عَذَابٌʿadhābun(is) a punishment
أَلِيمٌۭalīmunpainful

Translation

Only the way against those who oppress the people and rebel in the earth without right Those for them (is) a punishment painful

Verse 43

وَلَمَنwalamanAnd whoever
صَبَرَṣabara(is) patient
وَغَفَرَwaghafaraand forgives
إِنَّinnaindeed
ذَٰلِكَdhālikathat
لَمِنْlamin(is) surely of
عَزْمِʿazmimatters of determination
ٱلْأُمُورِl-umūrimatters of determination

Translation

And whoever (is) patient and forgives indeed that (is) surely of matters of determination matters of determination

Verse 44

وَمَنwamanAnd whoever
يُضْلِلِyuḍ'liliAllah lets go astray
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah lets go astray
فَمَاfamāthen not
لَهُۥlahufor him
مِنminany
وَلِىٍّۢwaliyyinprotector
مِّنۢminafter Him
بَعْدِهِۦ ۗbaʿdihiafter Him
وَتَرَىwatarāAnd you will see
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
لَمَّاlammāwhen
رَأَوُا۟ra-awūthey see
ٱلْعَذَابَl-ʿadhābathe punishment
يَقُولُونَyaqūlūnasaying
هَلْhalIs
إِلَىٰilā(there) for
مَرَدٍّۢmaraddinreturn
مِّنminany
سَبِيلٍۢsabīlinway

Translation

And whoever Allah lets go astray Allah lets go astray then not for him any protector after Him after Him And you will see the wrongdoers when they see the punishment saying Is (there) for return any way

Verse 45

وَتَرَىٰهُمْwatarāhumAnd you will see them
يُعْرَضُونَyuʿ'raḍūnabeing exposed
عَلَيْهَاʿalayhāto it
خَـٰشِعِينَkhāshiʿīnahumbled
مِنَminaby
ٱلذُّلِّl-dhulidisgrace
يَنظُرُونَyanẓurūnalooking
مِنminwith
طَرْفٍṭarfina glance
خَفِىٍّۢ ۗkhafiyyinstealthy
وَقَالَwaqālaAnd will say
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
ءَامَنُوٓا۟āmanūbelieved
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَl-khāsirīnathe losers
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(are) those who
خَسِرُوٓا۟khasirūlost
أَنفُسَهُمْanfusahumthemselves
وَأَهْلِيهِمْwa-ahlīhimand their families
يَوْمَyawma(on the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۗl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrection
أَلَآalāUnquestionably
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
فِىfī(are) in
عَذَابٍۢʿadhābina punishment
مُّقِيمٍۢmuqīminlasting

Translation

And you will see them being exposed to it humbled by disgrace looking with a glance stealthy And will say those who believed Indeed the losers (are) those who lost themselves and their families (on the) Day (of) the Resurrection Unquestionably Indeed the wrongdoers (are) in a punishment lasting

Verse 46

وَمَاwamāAnd not
كَانَkānawill be
لَهُمlahumfor them
مِّنْminany
أَوْلِيَآءَawliyāaprotector
يَنصُرُونَهُمyanṣurūnahum(who) will help them
مِّنminbesides
دُونِdūnibesides
ٱللَّهِ ۗl-lahiAllah
وَمَنwamanAnd whom
يُضْلِلِyuḍ'liliAllah lets go astray
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah lets go astray
فَمَاfamāthen not
لَهُۥlahufor him
مِنminany
سَبِيلٍsabīlinway

Translation

And not will be for them any protector (who) will help them besides besides Allah And whom Allah lets go astray Allah lets go astray then not for him any way

Verse 47

ٱسْتَجِيبُوا۟is'tajībūRespond
لِرَبِّكُمlirabbikumto your Lord
مِّنminbefore
قَبْلِqablibefore
أَنan[that]
يَأْتِىَyatiyacomes
يَوْمٌۭyawmuna Day
لَّاlā(there is) no
مَرَدَّmaraddaaverting
لَهُۥlahufor it
مِنَminafrom
ٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahiAllah
مَاmāNot
لَكُمlakum(is) for you
مِّنminany
مَّلْجَإٍۢmalja-inrefuge
يَوْمَئِذٍۢyawma-idhin(on) that Day
وَمَاwamāand not
لَكُمlakumfor you
مِّنminany
نَّكِيرٍۢnakīrindenial

Translation

Respond to your Lord before before [that] comes a Day (there is) no averting for it from Allah Not (is) for you any refuge (on) that Day and not for you any denial

Verse 48

فَإِنْfa-inThen if
أَعْرَضُوا۟aʿraḍūthey turn away
فَمَآfamāthen not
أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَarsalnākaWe have sent you
عَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimover them
حَفِيظًا ۖḥafīẓan(as) a guardian
إِنْinNot
عَلَيْكَʿalayka(is) on you
إِلَّاillāexcept
ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ ۗl-balāghuthe conveyance
وَإِنَّآwa-innāAnd indeed
إِذَآidhāwhen
أَذَقْنَاadhaqnāWe cause to taste
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَl-insāna[the] man
مِنَّاminnāfrom Us
رَحْمَةًۭraḥmatanMercy
فَرِحَfariḥahe rejoices
بِهَا ۖbihāin it
وَإِنwa-inBut if
تُصِبْهُمْtuṣib'humbefalls them
سَيِّئَةٌۢsayyi-atunevil
بِمَاbimāfor what
قَدَّمَتْqaddamathave sent forth
أَيْدِيهِمْaydīhimtheir hands
فَإِنَّfa-innathen indeed
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَl-insāna[the] man
كَفُورٌۭkafūrun(is) ungrateful

Translation

Then if they turn away then not We have sent you over them (as) a guardian Not (is) on you except the conveyance And indeed when We cause to taste [the] man from Us Mercy he rejoices in it But if befalls them evil for what have sent forth their hands then indeed [the] man (is) ungrateful

Verse 49

لِّلَّهِlillahiTo Allah
مُلْكُmul'ku(belongs the) dominion
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚwal-arḍiand the earth
يَخْلُقُyakhluquHe creates
مَاmāwhat
يَشَآءُ ۚyashāuHe wills
يَهَبُyahabuHe grants
لِمَنlimanto whom
يَشَآءُyashāuHe wills
إِنَـٰثًۭاināthanfemales
وَيَهَبُwayahabuand He grants
لِمَنlimanto whom
يَشَآءُyashāuHe wills
ٱلذُّكُورَl-dhukūra[the] males

Translation

To Allah (belongs the) dominion (of) the heavens and the earth He creates what He wills He grants to whom He wills females and He grants to whom He wills [the] males

Verse 50

أَوْawOr
يُزَوِّجُهُمْyuzawwijuhumHe grants them
ذُكْرَانًۭاdhuk'rānanmales
وَإِنَـٰثًۭا ۖwa-ināthanand females
وَيَجْعَلُwayajʿaluand He makes
مَنmanwhom
يَشَآءُyashāuHe wills
عَقِيمًا ۚʿaqīmanbarren
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, He
عَلِيمٌۭʿalīmun(is) All-Knower
قَدِيرٌۭqadīrunAll-Powerful

Translation

Or He grants them males and females and He makes whom He wills barren Indeed, He (is) All-Knower All-Powerful

Verse 51

۞ وَمَاwamāAnd not
كَانَkānais
لِبَشَرٍlibasharinfor any human
أَنanthat
يُكَلِّمَهُyukallimahuAllah should speak to him
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah should speak to him
إِلَّاillāexcept
وَحْيًاwaḥyan(by) revelation
أَوْawor
مِنminfrom
وَرَآئِwarāibehind
حِجَابٍḥijābina veil
أَوْawor
يُرْسِلَyur'sila(by) sending
رَسُولًۭاrasūlana messenger
فَيُوحِىَfayūḥiyathen he reveals
بِإِذْنِهِۦbi-idh'nihiby His permission
مَاmāwhat
يَشَآءُ ۚyashāuHe wills
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, He
عَلِىٌّʿaliyyun(is) Most High
حَكِيمٌۭḥakīmunMost Wise

Translation

And not is for any human that Allah should speak to him Allah should speak to him except (by) revelation or from behind a veil or (by) sending a messenger then he reveals by His permission what He wills Indeed, He (is) Most High Most Wise

Verse 52

وَكَذَٰلِكَwakadhālikaAnd thus
أَوْحَيْنَآawḥaynāWe have revealed
إِلَيْكَilaykato you
رُوحًۭاrūḥanan inspiration
مِّنْminby
أَمْرِنَا ۚamrināOur Command
مَاmāNot
كُنتَkunta(did) you
تَدْرِىtadrīknow
مَاmāwhat
ٱلْكِتَـٰبُl-kitābuthe Book (is)
وَلَاwalāand not
ٱلْإِيمَـٰنُl-īmānuthe faith
وَلَـٰكِنwalākinBut
جَعَلْنَـٰهُjaʿalnāhuWe have made it
نُورًۭاnūrana light
نَّهْدِىnahdīWe guide
بِهِۦbihiwith it
مَنmanwhom
نَّشَآءُnashāuWe will
مِنْminof
عِبَادِنَا ۚʿibādināOur slaves
وَإِنَّكَwa-innakaAnd indeed, you
لَتَهْدِىٓlatahdīsurely guide
إِلَىٰilāto
صِرَٰطٍۢṣirāṭin(the) Path
مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢmus'taqīminStraight

Translation

And thus We have revealed to you an inspiration by Our Command Not (did) you know what the Book (is) and not the faith But We have made it a light We guide with it whom We will of Our slaves And indeed, you surely guide to (the) Path Straight

Verse 53

صِرَٰطِṣirāṭi(The) path
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
ٱلَّذِىalladhīthe One
لَهُۥlahuto Whom
مَاmā(belongs) whatever
فِىfī(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavens
وَمَاwamāand whatever
فِىfī(is) in
ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗl-arḍithe earth
أَلَآalāUnquestionably
إِلَىilāTo
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
تَصِيرُtaṣīrureach
ٱلْأُمُورُl-umūruall affairs

Translation

(The) path (of) Allah the One to Whom (belongs) whatever (is) in the heavens and whatever (is) in the earth Unquestionably To Allah reach all affairs
