The Clear Proof

Chapter 98Medinan8 Verses

Verse 1

لَمْlamNot
يَكُنِyakuniwere
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
كَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieved
مِنْminfrom
أَهْلِahli(the) People
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābiof the Book
وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَwal-mush'rikīnaand the polytheists
مُنفَكِّينَmunfakkīnato be abandoned
حَتَّىٰḥattāuntil
تَأْتِيَهُمُtatiyahumu(there) comes to them
ٱلْبَيِّنَةُl-bayinatuthe clear evidence

Translation

Not were those who disbelieved from (the) People of the Book and the polytheists to be abandoned until (there) comes to them the clear evidence

Verse 2

رَسُولٌۭrasūlunA Messenger
مِّنَminafrom
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
يَتْلُوا۟yatlūreciting
صُحُفًۭاṣuḥufanpages
مُّطَهَّرَةًۭmuṭahharatanpurified

Translation

A Messenger from Allah reciting pages purified

Verse 3

فِيهَاfīhāWherein
كُتُبٌۭkutubun(are) writings
قَيِّمَةٌۭqayyimatuncorrect

Translation

Wherein (are) writings correct

Verse 4

وَمَاwamāAnd not
تَفَرَّقَtafarraqabecame divided
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
أُوتُوا۟ūtūwere given
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَl-kitābathe Book
إِلَّاillāuntil
مِنۢminfrom
بَعْدِbaʿdiafter
مَاmāwhat
جَآءَتْهُمُjāathumucame (to) them
ٱلْبَيِّنَةُl-bayinatu(of) the clear evidence

Translation

And not became divided those who were given the Book until from after what came (to) them (of) the clear evidence

Verse 5

وَمَآwamāAnd not
أُمِرُوٓا۟umirūthey were commanded
إِلَّاillāexcept
لِيَعْبُدُوا۟liyaʿbudūto worship
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
مُخْلِصِينَmukh'liṣīna(being) sincere
لَهُlahuto Him
ٱلدِّينَl-dīna(in) the religion
حُنَفَآءَḥunafāaupright
وَيُقِيمُوا۟wayuqīmūand to establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَl-ṣalatathe prayer
وَيُؤْتُوا۟wayu'tūand to give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ ۚl-zakatathe zakah
وَذَٰلِكَwadhālikaAnd that
دِينُdīnu(is the) religion
ٱلْقَيِّمَةِl-qayimatithe correct

Translation

And not they were commanded except to worship Allah (being) sincere to Him (in) the religion upright and to establish the prayer and to give the zakah And that (is the) religion the correct

Verse 6

إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
كَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieve
مِنْminfrom
أَهْلِahli(the) People
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābi(of) the Book
وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَwal-mush'rikīnaand the polytheists
فِىfī(will be) in
نَارِnāri(the) Fire
جَهَنَّمَjahannama(of) Hell
خَـٰلِدِينَkhālidīnaabiding eternally
فِيهَآ ۚfīhātherein
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThose
هُمْhumthey
شَرُّsharru(are the) worst
ٱلْبَرِيَّةِl-bariyati(of) the creatures

Translation

Indeed those who disbelieve from (the) People (of) the Book and the polytheists (will be) in (the) Fire (of) Hell abiding eternally therein Those they (are the) worst (of) the creatures

Verse 7

إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
ءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieve
وَعَمِلُوا۟waʿamilūand do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِl-ṣāliḥātirighteous deeds
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikathose
هُمْhumthey
خَيْرُkhayru(are the) best
ٱلْبَرِيَّةِl-bariyati(of) the creatures

Translation

Indeed those who believe and do righteous deeds those they (are the) best (of) the creatures

Verse 8

جَزَآؤُهُمْjazāuhumTheir reward
عِندَʿinda(is) with
رَبِّهِمْrabbihimtheir Lord
جَنَّـٰتُjannātuGardens
عَدْنٍۢʿadnin(of) Eternity
تَجْرِىtajrīflow
مِنminfrom
تَحْتِهَاtaḥtihāunderneath them
ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُl-anhāruthe rivers
خَـٰلِدِينَkhālidīnawill abide
فِيهَآfīhātherein
أَبَدًۭا ۖabadanforever
رَّضِىَraḍiya(will be) pleased
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah
عَنْهُمْʿanhumwith them
وَرَضُوا۟waraḍūand they (will be) pleased
عَنْهُ ۚʿanhuwith Him
ذَٰلِكَdhālikaThat
لِمَنْliman(is) for whoever
خَشِىَkhashiyafeared
رَبَّهُۥrabbahuhis Lord

Translation

Their reward (is) with their Lord Gardens (of) Eternity flow from underneath them the rivers will abide therein forever (will be) pleased Allah with them and they (will be) pleased with Him That (is) for whoever feared his Lord
